This month's Featured FanArtist has one of the largest collections of canon art in the fandom.
Presenting the wonderful works of the one and only --

glockgal

Her style is fresh and vibrant, and she has a great eye for detail and characterization!
And although she specializes in a vast amount of HP images from the books ("canon") she also has some wonderful "fanon" HP images as well!
Included amongst the latter is one of my absolute favourites, featuring the young Marauders --

You can also find more of Glockgal's art at her LiveJournal community: http://community.livejournal.com/glockart

Dive into her art and see what floats for you. Tell us about your favourites, and why you like them.
If you are anything like me, there will be many, many to choose from . . . heck, I love 'em all! wub.gif

Ohhh, this has been a long time coming!! Glock is arguably my favorite fanartist ever--I could probably write essays on why I love her art and how it has impacted me and my participation in the Harry Potter fandom, etc. etc. etc. XD She was pretty much the first Harry Potter fanartist I found four years ago, and ever since, I've been in love. ;)

Some of my favorite things about glockgal's art:
1. Her love for details and backgrounds
2. Her love for Quidditch and great talent at capturing it (uniforms, action, intensity, etc.)
3. She draws beautiful food!
4. Her versatility with media--Watercolors? Check. Photoshop? Check. Ink? Check Pencil? Check check check.
5. She's always experimenting with different styles and angles and perspectives!
6. She's brilliant at conveying action and movement. <3

Some of my favorite arts: (by no means an exhaustive list)
This wonderful picture of Harry comforting Ron. Quidditchy!
Bill and Ginny on a bike -- her Weasleys, gah! :D
The trio through the years So. Much. Love.
Snape, Lupin and Harry in Lupin's office from POA. Details details details!!

Yay for glockgal! Thanks for featuring her this month! :D

When I first started exploring the online HP fandom, Glockal's art was some of the first I came across, and she's been a favorite of mine ever since.

I absolutely adore her interpretation of the Marauders, and her eye for detail never fails to astound me.

Congtratulations, Glockal!

I love glockgal! She's one of the first fanartists I stumbled across when I first encountered online fandom and her confident style and vibrant colours and the brilliant action and movement of the figures really drew me in.

But she's not only a really good artist, but also a really enthusiastic and generous fandomer - GalleryCast interviewed her some weeks ago about fandom and fandom etiquette, and she's so nice and knowledgeable and interested in other people and things. Thanks Leaky for featuring her - when I saw this, I thought "What? She hasn't already been featured? About time, eh?"

Shes great! I didn't know her but i've been looking through her gallery and all her drawings are amazing, you are all right, the detail is brilliant! And i found this one; it doesn't have that much detail on the background but is just sooo ccuuteeeee!!! I had to share it.
I will never get tired of looking at Snape/Lily fanart

Although glockgal is a genius in her use of colour, she also has an amazing eye towards black and white imagery as well. Here is her take on the trio meeting up with Xeno Lovegood at his home, in DH --

Again, it is her incredible detail that sets her apart from other FanArtists. Check out the stubble on Ron and Harry! You can see the full-size version here in the TLC FanArt Gallery. smile.gif

I think that Glockgal has a unique vision of the Marauders that matched my own. biggrin.gif I really like this image of Sirius and Buckbeak --

Here in the FanArt Gallery

The look of near ecstasy on Sirius' face is amazing! You can tell he is tasting real freedom for the first time in 12 years!

*sniffle* I love that one of Sirius and Buckbeak! cry.gif

I too love Glockgal's work. I can just stare forever at them, and I have waaay too many favorites to list them all. I think one of the things I love best is her ability to depict emotion/facial expression. Her work can tug at my heartstrings so much. For example, this one from Goblet Of Fire gets me every time.

Found here in our galleries.
The expression of surprise on Cedric's face is exactly how it was described in the book. This scene is so powerful. I love how Harry is only half in the picture. cry.gif

I also adore this one, the expression of sheer determination on Ron's face is incredible and it just makes me want to hug him!

Found here in our galleries.

I am so happy to see Glockgal get recognition as a fabulous artist, she deserves it! Congratulations Glockgal! clap.gif
