True - I hadn't seen this before, but she is lovely, and has now replaced my idea of Luna. I have to say, casting dept for the series has been excellent overall...

I loved the way she looked, but her voice is really what I worried about. In my mind, Luna's voice had to sound a certain way.

I loved finally being able to hear that Evanna had that sound in her voice. Evanna's mannerisms were perfect as well.

Evanna is Luna! I knew that the moment I first saw her!

It's pretty incredible, just how much like Luna Evana actually sounds. That "Dreamy Voice" that Luna has, is Evanas natural voice. Kinda Spooky! But very cool! She is going to do so well! I think she just might be the scene stealer in OOTP. Every time she is on screen, everyone is going to be focusing on her! LOL!

I'm with Tails_the_auror - I looooove Evanna's voice for Luna! That was the main reason I was so anxious to see this interview, because although I couldn't tell you how Luna's voice would sound, I had a very particular idea of the kind of voice she would have, and I was terribly afraid of it being either overdramatic or depressingly normal. Evanna has the perfect look/voice for Luna and I cannot waiiiiiit to see her in the film!

I concur: she's perfect! I knew it from the moment I saw her. And the news today that she designed the radish earrings... that's our girl! She's the one who speaks for us.

I've already seen the video; but when I watched it, it confirmed what I was originally thinking. Evanna is perfect for the role of Luna. Her voice has that very soft, dreamy, ethreal quality to it. Also the fact that she's such a dedicated HP fan and loves the character of Luna so much definitely helps. She said that she wants to do the character of Luna justice, and by even making sure that she has her own creative say in her character's jewelry shows that!

Wow, Could she be anymore perfect?? I don't think so!

I've been meaning to watch this video forever but just now finally got around to it. Love her voice, her mannerisms, everything. Can't wait to see her in character!

it's the first time i've seen her in a video..she looks more cooler than in the pictures..

but what is up with her voice...definately not sounded like what my Luna would have been....

Dan Radcliffe was recently interviewed and was saying that it's hard to tell where Evanna finishes and Luna starts . He thinks she's perfect as well, so I am wondering whether we are going to get a lovely soft Irish accent, Luna.

Hmm good question Donna. I think that would be really good but I wonder what the general fan reaction would be? I think that a beautiful Irish accent would only add to the quirks of the character.

Ooooooooh!! Evanna is literally a walking talking Luna Lovegood! Could she be any more perfect? From her voice to her huge misty eyes, she is perfectly cast. Emma Watson said in a recent interview that she could not tell the difference between Evanna on camera and off camera! Not to mention its great to have a real true fan on set. I am so excited to see her in OOTP. I wonder if she will be in the trailer?

Imagine being the casting agent and hearing THAT from No. 1809 or where ever she was in the queue you'd sit right up and and show her the contrac straight away.

Since all of the casting for this series has been so close to spot-on, I wasn't surprised to see how perfect Evanna seems for Luna. She is so adorable in this video, wanting everyone to like her vision of Luna.

However, when I saw the ABC Sneak Peek video dedicated to Luna, I was absolutely convinced that not only did she have the LOOK down--she IS Luna! I truly cannot wait to see the OotP film!

Personally, I don't think she's very good. She looks very young, and seems very shy. I pictured Luna as dreamy and always looking far off and thinking, but she just looked like a shy and scared kitten. Hopefully, she'll be better in the movie.


Edited to add: Okay, I just saw the second movie that Hagiographer13 supplied and she was practically perfect, but her hair is horrid! Did the book say Luna's hair was that long?

Jo described her having "waist-long, dirty blond hair" so i think her is hair is canon.


i agree, judging by the previews, she does act shy but perhaps its just because of her dreamy vioce. but i always imagined Luna being a bit shy, so i think Evanna is doing a great job.

I just wish she would take the extensions out when she's not filming. Her hair is perfect for Luna because she's soo wacky, but it's not really appealing out in the real world. I think they went past waist-length and straight to knee length. If you saw a picture or video of her at the National Movie Awards then you probably saw how long it was. You couldn't really tell until she turned around, but it's extremely long.
