How exciting

! On the 17th November, the first official trailer for the Order of the Phoenix will be released by WB's. It will be seen before the cinema release of "Happy Feet".
To celebrate this pretty awesome news, we've put together a poll with links to the previous Harry Potter film trailers. Which has been your favourite so far?
Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone?Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets?Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban? (View a . . . trailer

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire?37 days and counting!!!!

Okay, all the movies were great (3 not so much as others!) but, I picked Sorcerer's Stone. Everything is new to us and Harry when we first saw it. I thought it was the one that best captured the Harry Potter world.

For me it was Goblet of Fire for many reasons, it was also the most anticipated one for me and it didn't disappoint! All of them have been pretty good though and I can't wait for the OOTP one!!!

For me it was the one for the Philosophers Stone.
There is something really magical about the opening bars to John Williams's score, and I can remember sitting in the cinema as it started with Harry and Hagrid walking down Diagon Alley and literally screaming out loud!!!
The one for CoS is fun and the trailer for PoA was pretty intense with the focus on the Dementors. I loved the one for GoF because again the music was fabulous and it slowly builds up the tension until you see that quick shot of Lord Voldemort at the end - that was amazing.
I cannot wait for the OotP one.

Oct 11 2006, 02:52 PM
It was also the first movie for me. It was the one that started it all and I agree that the music and the peek at Diagon Alley with Hagrid and Harry was just so exciting!
"You're a wizard, Harry." "I- - I'm a what?"
I just loved it

The kids were alll so gosh darned cute in the first one, and you could just tell from the trailer that the essence of the book was going to be caught well in the film.

This was such a hard choice ... much as I agree with MaraudingDon about John Williams and his music and the power it has to transport me instantly to Harry's world when I hear it play, I had to choose Goblet of Fire. For me, this trailer has everything - a neat soundtrack, pace, power, heart-stopping moments ... Harry falling many, many feet and his cry fading into the distance and Cedric being dragged along in the maze to name just two of them ... and I vividly remember the first time I saw it and gasping out loud as I saw the Hungarian Horntail and Mad-Eye Moody! In short, totally, absolutely ... brilliant!

Whoa it's a draw at the moment.
I voted for Harry Potter and the PS/SS because I sat there watching it and grinning my head off. I remember seeing that for the first time and squealing with delight because the magic seemed to really have begun.
This trailer opens Harry's world and I just think that that is so exciting! I agree with what Aislinn said above- you could tell that the essence of the book was going to be caught well in the film. I believe that the first movie really did capture the magic.
I can't wait for the trailer for OotP!!! So exciting!!!

i loved the trailer for PS/SS because it was the first one and everything but i think the trailer for GoF was the best. Everytime i saw it, i got chills because it looked to intense and action packed and stuff
im totally excited for the OotP one though....its my favourite book and i have a feeling that its going to be a really good trailer

It was a very close race between them all. I remember how exciting it was to see them all for the first time. But I ended up choosing Goblet of Fire. It was very hard to choose though.

GoF!! I was so excited to see that movie! I think mainly because of all the visual effects is what made it so anticipated.

Ack! It's so a tie for me - I can't decide between SS/PS and GoF. I love the moment in the GoF trailer where Hermione says, "The enemy???" and the music completely changes - it's such a brillant score.
The Movie 1 trailer just has this incredible charm to it, though. It just is so exciting - and it was the *first* time the words Harry Potter had come up on the big screen, which was just soooo cool. I can't decide!!!

I ended up picking GOF although COS was a close second. I think it's just all the suspense and special effects that really got me stoked for GOF. The acting improves as they get older as well, so that makes it even more exciting.

Not to mention 'the Dark Lord' made his grandiose entrance.
I can't wait for the new OOTP trailer!

Hands down the
GoF trailer was the best--as was the film, IMHO. A close second, as many others have said, was
PS/SS, which, as the first, will always have a special place in my heart. But the
Goblet trailer did
exactly what a good trailer should do--it got me SOOO excited to see the film I could hardly stand the wait!
And now, the
OotP trailer is on the horizon . . . will it match up to the high mark the last one set? I can't wait to find out.

I voted for Goblet of Fire: but it was a tough choice between GoF and SS/PS.

Oct 15 2006, 11:52 PM
I had to vote for PS. This is what truely brought me to the world of Harry Potter. I had never read the books and I remember seeing this movie trailer on TV and thought, WOW that looks like my kind of movie. Just the introduction the the music sent shivers down my spine.
This is how Harry Potter came into my life.

Oct 16 2006, 02:03 AM
Awww mammaprince that would make it very special!
I'm surprised how popular the Goblet of Fire trailer is but I can understand that because it is the new movie it is still the exciting one. I think that the GOF clip is definitely the best in terms of cinematography and impressive new special effects but the first three have more innocence about them.

definitely.

Well this is a tough poll.
I remember seeing the GoF trailers. I dont go to the movies too often, but around that time there a lot of good movies (Were-Rabbit, Corpse Bride...) & I saw the trailer several times. I remember I was on the edge of my seat, just totally caught up in it, & so excited for the movie. But, *dodges rotten tomatoes* I didnt like GoF the movie. I was so disappointed. Having seen it multiple times on DVD I am beginning to learn to appreciate it.
But, erm we are talking trailers not movies. So had I not seen GoF, I would probably vote for GoF trailer. But, I think I have to vote SS. There's so much in that trailer, so many great scenes ... and
The Magic Begins ...
Soon. That was just so awesome.
I love all the trailers though, so this was a tough choice

GOF,certainly cuz that's the only trailer i saw on my huge T.V screen..the rest i saw on my computer maybe ha's why..but still GOF rocks...
i loved the speciall affects in it and the trailer grabs you to see the movie...it drags you towards it...awesome lolz...
why were they 2 or 3 different teaser trailers of GOF?

I think it's standard industry practice to have several trailers for films now, especially with big budget movies like the HP ones

. They also make TV Spots which are really short trailers which advertise a character or small part of the movie. These are really popular in the US, but not used so much in the UK.

I totally loved the trailer for GoF
I loved the clips of the trio from the 1st film up to GoF, SO CUTE

I voted for Philosopher's Stone, for the same reasons lots of others have said - "The magic begins", it's just so exciting to see how it all began, all the first glimpses of the wonderful actors, beautiful sets and fantastic effects.
But most importantly I love the fact that the last line is Mr Ollivander saying 'We can expect great things from you'. I love love love John Hurt in that film - its my favourite scene (also my favourite in the book) and the image of Harry holding his wand for the first time is just spectacular

So what is better?
* Seeing the trailer for the first time, in whatever format, even if it's a small square on your computer screen or seeing it on TV with a news voice over?
OR
* Seeing the trailer for the first time in the atmosphere of a cinema, even if it means seeing it a couple of weeks after everyone else has seen it?

Oh
Donna fantabulous question.
For me that answer is so obvious.
Sitting at the movies with your friends and then you hear that music and see that font flash on the screen and read the words 'HARRY POTTER' I get all excited just thinking about it!
However, I will be seeing it on my computer screen. Happy Feet doesn't premiere in Australia for a while and I'm hardly going to resist the online version- what type of fan would?
As soon as Happy Feet comes out though I am going to drag my cool teenage non Harry Potter obsessing friends to watch dancing penguins.

I have never seen a TV trailer on TV, only on the DVD bonus extra bits. I guess it would be exciting to see, but there is something magical about sitting in the theater and the trailers come on & it's a HP trailer. When I first saw the GoF trailer I realized that I was perched on the edge of my seat & was holding my breath lol. I reallyreally am so excited for OoTP & I so want to see this trailer.

It's a fantastic feeling watching the trailer at cinema! The atmosphere and the quality are much better than at home. Although I am gonna to see the new trailer right after it'll be published on my computer!
Till now the "Goblet of Fire"-Trailer is the best one! It really gave me the heebie-jeebies - fascinating!

This is true for me as well. And it's such a wonderful introfuction to the world, not "just" another HP movie. I mean, everything in it was magical, in the later trailers it's the new adventure that's presented and it's great to see the characters a bit older and so on, but for the first everything was new. I just love it.

Hmm... I don't have enough patience to wait weeks to see a trailer! If it meant waiting maybe one or two days then yeah, I'd wait to see it in the theater. If it meant waiting a week or more - I'd be finding the highest online quality vid I could.

i voted for GoF mainly because it was the first trailer i watched on the internet.

i havent been much online at the time when the PoA trailer was released (not to mention previous 2 trailers) but with GoF, it was an amazing experience - the anticipation and the excitement surrounding its release was a bit overwhelming but awesome nonetheless.

Well I have to say I haven't seen a an HP trailer I didn't like, I love them all. All of them have excellent moments and are put together nicely. I did really like the GOF trailer and I think I would have voted for it if the OotP teaser had not emerged. It's probably because it's new, but I really love it and it just makes me crave seeing the movie.

I love the PoA trailer becaue I love it how it opens with Snape coming into the classroom and saying "Turn to page 394"...it was just one of those moments where I got so excited about seeing the movie...and I love how they put the moment in the trailer of Ron and Hermione. Def. my fav trailer!

The PS teaser trailer... after viewing it, I realized what Harry Potter was about (just after 4 came out, I heard a lot about the book, but not that the book was about magic).
So, basically, it's more of a sentimental attachment rather than it was the best made one...

I voted for Goblet of Fire. I like the international trailer the best. It's just awesome. I love the brief glimpses of the DE's terrorizing at the QWC and the music. I expect OotP will be my favorite when it's released though. The teaser is excellent but I want a whole trailer!! C'mon WB!!!

I make a point of not watching trailers before a movie is released, I like the movie to be fresh to me (I hate waiting in movies to see things I remembered seeing in the trailers). But, of them (seeing them after the movies) I like PoA and GoF (I voted for PoA, I thought it was just great and really captured the growing darkness in their world).

I voted for OotP becasue right now it's my favorite. I get all excited anytime a new one comes out. We could get the OotP trawiler on HBO On Demand and I watched it alot. I was just excited that it was coming out. For once I can go to the movies and not worry about spending $17 on something I might not like because I already know I'm going to like it.

Which film has the best trailers?

If I remember right I voted for the OotP teaser which was all we had at the time, but now I would definitely vote for one of the new ones. The problem is I would not be able to decide which, I love them both!! The international is more moody and has the great hammering motif that shows the ministry's oppression so well. But the domestic one has such great adrenaline pumping shots put together, it's very exciting. I guess it is good I have already voted, but I would vote for the new ones now if I had a choice!

OotP. I love that the international trailer focuses more on the faschism of the MoM while the domestic one focues more on the action.
But the PS/SS never fials to turn me into a sobbing puddle.

I voted for OoTP because you can tell the filmakers have gone to great effort to create four good trailers for the film, which is really making me excited to see the actual film. My second fave now would be PoA for similar reasons. Though having seen the earlier trailers of the first two films retrospectively as I missed them at the time they are a good introduction to the series and show the magic of the films, the books brought to life.

I seriously can't remember the trailers for the first three movies, as it was a long time ago since I saw them and I was younger than now, obviously.
The only reason voted for OotP, besides the fact that the trailers are freaking awesome, instead of GoF, is because GoF was a big disappointment and it proved the universal fact that just because the trailer is freaking awesome, the movie could end up sucking.
I really hope that OotP doesn't disappoint like GoF!
