Based on the International Acclaimed Fantasy Series of this Age –Mrs. J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter!

Based on the Warner Brother’s Harry Potter Film Series that captivated Audiences Worldwide!

WARNER BROTHER's Proudly Announces the OPENING of the HARRY POTTER RIDE!

You have been given an opening day ticket. You are one of the few lucky people to ride the Harry Potter Ride for the FIRST TIME! Your nerves are tingling, and you just can't seem to stand in one spot. You feel you can't contain the Excitement!

Mrs. J.K.Rowlings is there to cut the ribbon to open the ride. Even her kids are excited.

You are in this First group to ride it!

What would the ride be, based on what you have read, then SEEN in the Warner Brother’s Films. What type of ride would make you make you get your family get up at 5 a.m. to drive to the place to be on time for the opening? A ride that you also have a repeat ticket for: Not only are you riding it for the first time; but you get the thrill of the second ride as well.

What is your DREAM RIDE that Warner Brother’s could create, that would have you talking for months, or weeks in advance of it opening?

This is related to How Warner’s would re-interpret their Film Version. So this would in fact be a film tie-in. Since Warner Brother’s would be using a combination of Technology to enhance your own personal memory of what you have seen in the film versions.

The new State-of-Art rides, use a combined element of High Definition film, Multi-Action from Animatronics, and live Actors, plus computer design to get you involved into the world you already love.

Those who have been on the Star Wars Adventure, The Indiana Jones Rides, and now Pirates of the Caribbean (which, actually the ride came before the film) know that you can have quite a bit of fun on them.
______________________________________

I personally loved Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. I was disappointed if either was shut down for maintenance. They were the priority rides as a child.

I especially loved Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, because you drove through walls, and went through fireplaces, and caused all sorts of trouble from your wreck less driving. That ride always put me in a dangerously good mood.

I also loved Alice in Wonderland, with it’s neon, and very strange dream world.

I loved the Peter Pan’s Flight, just for the moment of flying out of the window, to see London moving beneath my flying ship cart. This florescent night lit attraction just made me feel like flying over the city as a small child. Did not like the rest of the ride so much, but wished I would have had more of a chance to fly more over London.

All of these rides I mentioned above were, or are now, based on Films and Animation.

Then Tomorrowland announced they were opening Space Mountain. I was ecstatic. I couldn’t wait till the next trip to California to go when it did open. My Birth Parents refused to take me to any other Amusement park – so besides Lagoon in Utah, with the wooden roller coaster, I did not know what a huge roller coaster was like till I was 20.
I was so excited that the over an hour wait seemed to go in no time. It was magical for me.

I loved space series like Space 1999, and UFO, and I always wanted to take a rocket (now shuttle) into space. So when the ride made the turn on the track out of the spaceport, and the cart tilted back, getting ready to be shot into space, the nerves of my body were all firing at once. Then, the cart turned at the top, and you dropped into a Planetarium of shooting stars.

As a small child I loved going to the Planetarium, to see the Star Show, as well as LAZER ROCK – hehehe… now when I think about it, is very funny. I always had a fantasy of wanting my room to be like a Planetarium – and the Space Mountain brought that childhood dream alive for me for a brief moment.

True, Disneyland had the Matterhorn Bobsled’s, which I liked more as a child, because you were in this dark cavern, and then the roller coaster took you through all the winding passageways, in, and out of the mountain. I never have been on the updated ride. My partner at the time said they were bored with Disneyland, so they took me to Magic Mountain when I was 22. This was my first exposure to big thrill rides.

This changed my perspective completely. I enjoy both Theme Parks, and High Thrill Parks. This summer I rode Goliath at Walibi World in The Netherlands. I still have the picture of me laughing. I never had been on a ride where I felt more like I was flying. I was so happy, so incredibly happy. It was such a freeing moment for me. I also had this perspective in my mind that – This is something like what it would be like to ride a broom in the sky, from Harry Potter.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Goblet of Fire: First Task:

“Accio Firebolt!” & “The Hungarian Horntail” Roller Coaster dual ride’s:

You pick which Roller Coaster you want to ride first, then catch the other. It’s a double perspective Roller Coaster Ride. Also, it has never been done before in any Amusement park on the level I Dream about doing it.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I keep watching that part of Goblet of Fire, and if there is a HP roller coaster ride - I would stand in line for that, many times in fact for both of them. It would be a similar terrain and style as The Goblet of Fire Film.

The Entry for “Accio Firebolt!” is done to enhance the anticipation of what Harry must of felt before the challenge. You heard the roars, and can sense the fire, and the loud sound of the whipping track. The tradition on this ride is – the Roller Coaster is pulled back for the air compression system. When it stops – people yell “ACCIO FIREBOLT!” at the top of their lungs, as the Roller Coaster takes off. This is something that people make a tradition of doing when going on the ride!

“Accio Firebolt!”

The “Accio Firebolt!” is now shooting out at tremendous speed, in winding loops, while the Fire Breathing Hungarian Horntail Shoots out balls of fire. The Animatronic Hungarian Horntail is over 5 stories tall. It rotates, and tries several times to get you. After completing the loops to barely escape the balls of fire, then “Accio Firebolt!” - breaks through the stands; then the “Hungarian Horntail” Roller Coaster – races after “Accio Firebolt!” on another track.

Two entwined Roller Coasters with different thrills, loops, and one with a very nasty drop.

The Entry for “Hungarian Horntail” is quite different. You are in the Dragon’s den, in the Mountain.
So the theme is suited for that. What the difference is – is there are Wizards trying to stop you from breaking out of the cavern. So when you take off, there are many red lazer lights shooting out at the “Hungarian Horntail” to try to prevent your escape. This causes a disorientation distraction to make the thrill even more intense as it shoots out at top speed, from the dark cavern into the light.

Loaded on a spring coil, but faster that “Accio Firebolt” at first. This is due to the fact that the “Accio Firebolt” does more winding loops at first, in the area with the Fire Breathing Hungarian Horntail. So this one you feel like you shoot out right into the sky –

“Hungarian Horntail”
So this one you feel like you shoot out right into the sky – 10 stories or higher anyone?
“Hungarian Horntail” - then chases after the “Accio Firebolt”, like the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire– making several different passes, where you almost catch it. So it is two Roller Coasters racing after each other.

Then both Roller Coasters pass Hogwart’s. The tracks cause both the Roller Coasters to stop on a tilt – the “Hungarian Horntail” higher than the “Accio Firebolt”. Then both Roller coasters have a drop (like Harry Potter trying to get his broom, slides down the side of the castle roof).

The Drop is scary. The “Accio Firebolt” pulls out of it, but the “Hungarian Horntail” continues the drop, the longest in Roller Coaster History. Then the “Hungarian Horntail” glides back into the Mountain to again pick up more riders.

The “Accio Firebolt” however does a backwards flip twist in the tracks, to avert the longer drop – that is the thrill of this ride as well – then does a double loop around the original area of Grandstands (outside of the loop circle – so that the tracks and action does not confuse the riders with the beginning of the ride – BUT they hear the jets of fire, and the screams of the riders – so as to replicate what Harry must have heard before he did his task once again. This re-affirms that “Challenge of Tasks” feelings that now other people are facing the Hungarian Horntail. This makes the riders want to do the ride again.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

How about you? What ride would you like? I will submit more ideas once other people contribute their ideas on rides. Give it a shot. Even if you have a hard time describing the motions – give us a general idea – and it’s relation to the Harry Potter Books, Films, and Gaming.

Make it as thrilling as possible!

Cheers,

Helyx thumbup.gif

What Would the Harry Potter World be like – if Warner Brother’s Developed into it’s own Amusement Park – or Developed it for another Amusement Park Chain?

That coaster sounds awesome!
As for me, perhaps a ride on the Whomping Willow? I would think it would invlove lots of torque though...

I'm having visions of Potter Puppet Pals singing "It's a Small World". Aaaargh! Make them stop!

Helyx,

You got my adrenaline pumping just reading about that coaster. I would definitely excitedly wait months or even years for it to come out. The combination of theme elements to make it a full story, and genuinely terrifying twists turns and drops sound perfect to me.

I'm not quite as creative but here are my ideas- assuming a full park of course:

There'd have to be a hogsmeade, a diagon alley, and maybe even a knockturn alley for the shopping areas. You should enter the park through platform 9 3/4 (maybe some kind of sliding door painted to look like brick?) straight into the shopping area of diagon alley.

Merry go round made out of quidditch brooms or flying carpets.

Thestrals sky ride (horseless carriages) as an option for across the park transit.

Hogwarts train as ground transit around the park.

Wooden coaster would have to be gringotts mine carts- that would be soooooo perfect.

As for a steel terrfiying coaster- the flying ford anglia, it could definitely do loops twist turns upside down etc., and maybe some sort of clouds to go through, and rapid droppping.

The Azkaban Dietitian
I could go for a couple of rides in a WB Park, but I don't think that an HP Park would make it on it's own. There are hordes of fans mind you, but parks can be pricey. I just went to Disney World in August and it was outrageous what they charge these days!

I love the idea for your rollercoaster Helyx, but these fireballs---real or fake?

The GoF theme is very interesting, but one ride really wouldn't be enough. A water themed one for the Lake would be really fun--I love water rides. Maybe an underwater vessel that flows through a waterway and then you get attacked by grindylows which pull you down into deep dark water and then the Giant Squid comes and saves you--only for you to be taken hostage by a tribe of mermaids!--which is where the squid runs off like a wimp... and then... Harry with weed--er--gillyweed comes to rescue your little pod because he has a wand! Whee!! wizard.gif

Yes, "The Hungarian Horntail" would shoot fireballs, but just enough in the safety rage of the riders.

Think of a fire blower they have at circus acts. It would be enough to scare you, but meet regulation code

On the Universal Studio's Tour, They use real Fire, in one of their "effects" areas. One in the "Firedraft" Sound state, and the part where the subway car crashes from the earthquake. They also have a Fire Breathing Dragon in the Conan, the Barbarian Live Show, if they are still doing it. So they know how to have fire balls, and have it safe within an audience. I remembered feeling the heat of the fire from my seat in the audience.

Seattle Opera Company did use actual Fire in their Version of WAGNER's Ring Cycle. It's with a gas system, that can be easily controled. They use it in many films. Since the Dragon would be outside, the combustion rate would not build up over time, because of air exposure.

They used to have a house on fire in the original Univeral Studios Tour that I went on as a child.

So also think of how Univeral did a large King Kong, that rips the bridge out of its steel beams from that ride. That is the size I was thinking for the Dragon.

I should know. I tested to become a Univeral Studio's Tour Guide in 1989. Unfortunatly, The Studio really wanted me to PUSH some quite awful films throughout the tour, so I backed out. I don't like lying to an audience that I liked something. Last thing I want is a Tourist upset because of my recommendations.

Also, I just mentioned one ride. That way people could BE CREATIVE and come up with rides to ADD to the Harry Potter Area. How Disneyland added the cartoon world to their already existing Disney. They had the space to do it. So Warners would do it as part of the park as a whole. I quite liked TOON TOWN. The kids really like the Electric Company, because if tried to open the doors, you would hear this "ZAP" electricity sound.

No, I don't think a seperate Harry Potter Park would make it on it's own. What they would do, is do a TESTER, like George Lucas did with Disneyland. One ride to see how audiences recieved it, before building a whole section of Harry Potter related rides.
______________________________________________

The Flying Ford Anglia:

That one could be a bit like the Wild Mouse ride on High Octane (GAS!) (if people know that one).

Would this be like the DVD rom Game they have on Harry Potter and the Secret Chamber? Where all the spiders tried to get you?

Actually, I like the idea of an Actual Car as a Roller Coaster Cart! That would be fun. Not only to go on, but to watch. Just imagine some kid going, "Look MOM, there's a car flying!

The Wild Mouse ride is downright evil> I like to spin the cart as fast as possible, as it is going traveling along the Thin Track Roller Coaster, making unexpected turns.

That one scared me as a child, because the original construction of that ride was a thin rail track. At that time, the cart was of minimal design. So you really felt like you could fall out of it at any moment! It would switch tracks, so when you think the cart is going left, it went right.

________________________________________________

The Whomping Whillow ride.

That one would have all seperate arm cages that people would get in (think of an octopus taking a break). Then all the arms would go up into the air, and seperatly the arms would swing into the center, or out, as the base rotated. I think they would have to clean up that ride many times a day!

_________________________________________________

Hogsmead! Knockturn Alley!

I would love to go into an area designed like that. In The Netherlands we have the Efteling:

http://www.efteling.nl/home.aspx?LanguageId=2

That park is designed in some sections quite like a Hogsmead would look like. Check out the site to also get some ideas as well. It's one of my favorate Amusement Parks in Europe. Dream Flight is the most packed ride there. Its a wonderful dip into the world of fantasy.

It is also one of the most friendly Amusement Parks to take your kids to. That is what I would also like to see Warner Brother's try to achieve. A balance with thrill rides, some beautiful natural landscaping, and some recognizable Designs from the Harry Potter Film. That would also make many people quite happy to walk in that world.
__________________________________________________

Thestral's carriages!

The Thestral's could move on tracks in the road, or by a magnitized system - So you actually would be in a Wooden carriage, but it moved on it's own!

__________________________________________________

Gringott's!

Yes, just try to get your gold out of your vault! hehehe! Excellent Idea! I think the trick they could do with that one, since Disneyland Paris already has 'The Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Mine Train Ride" - which goes first forwards, then you go backwards through the mine.

In Gringott's, I think they could harness you in so that you think you are up, and then the track will make you go upside down at points. Why not break through a couple of vaults too!

___________________________________________________

Flying Brooms/Magic Carpets -

That sounds wonderful for the kids, and Parents. They would have to make it stable enough to hold the riders, if it was turning even in a carosel. I think Univeral has the E.T. ride, but I am not sure if people get on Bicycles for that one. They were developing that one while I was training as a Tour Guide there.

__________________________________________________

Potter's Puppet Pals!

Exactly what song would they be singing? hehehe!

It's a small world - always drove me nuts at Disneyland! Not just that. The clock was almost hypnotic, clicking off every second - so you found yourself in the line for that ride, whether you remember getting into the line for it at all. hehehe...

___________________________________________________

Platform 9 3/4!

Actually, the technology is very developed in digital projection. So people would think they are seeing a wall there, and there is not one. The great part would be, that at times there would be a wall! Padded Stone, of course!

____________________________________________________

Goblet of Fire: THE THREE TASKS!

I think if they did it, they would base an area off all 3 tasks from the Goblet of Fire Film. So there would be some sort of Aquatic version of the second task Actually, they might combine it with a water ride - where you would get a bit wet.

____________________________________________________

Keep up the Great Ideas! Who knows, If we think about our rides, we might make them come true!

Cheers,

You finally unlocked a series of my wildest dreams. The world would almost be heavenly if a Harry Potter theme park came to life biggrin.gif

I think you've almost covered the best of the best rides i could ever imagine and i suppose that right now i'm too overwhelmed to think of something

Helyx, perhaps the mad mouse ride could be the way to the Gringott's vaults--with a firebreathing dragon at the end.

What a great idea, a harry potter version of that on either magic carpets (for young kids with familys) or brooms would perfect. You could be immersed in flying thorough that world- perhaps hogwarts grounds.

The ET one you really do ride the bikes. I love that ride, it was like living a lifelong dream for me. The first movie I ever saw in the movie theater was ET when I was 5 y/o. I was soooo excited excited.gif when they were flying at the end of the movie that I literally was jumping up and down on my seat to join them ( blush.gif my poor parents- imagine the other people in the theater). The ride takes you to ET's on the bike and you visit ET's world, it really feels like your flying on a bike.
At the end they say goodbye to you by name
I'm sure that could be done in the same way within the Harry Potter world to make you feel like you really are flying on a broom.
LauraKeaton
Ok, so we're hearing rumors about a Harry Potter theme park, and sadly, rumors is probably all they are. But let's just pretend that someone decides to build a Harry Potter theme park. What sorts of attractions would you want to see? Rides, shows, restaurants, etc. Would you go to a Harry Potter theme park? Where do you think it should be built? Basically think about anything that would go into a major theme park, and discuss it here.

I personally would love to see a Harry Potter theme park, as long as it had lots of roller coasters. I envision a huge steel coaster called "The Firebolt" with cars that resemble broomsticks and lots and lots of loops. One of those 3-D rides would be cool too, where the seats move in sync to a huge screen. I would love to have a Quidditch game themed one. Also, since most theme parks have some sort of landscaping, a replica of the maze from Goblet of Fire (book, not movie) would be pretty cool to walk through. With statues of things like Blast Ended Skrewts, a Sphinx, etc.
justlaxin9799
the thingslike disney where they basically put you in a box, make you feel and sound like youre moving, itd be awesome, and some crazy rollercoasters based on quiditch, or the dragon task. oooo and a water park based on the mermish village, and maybe a water ride escaping the giant squid.
chocolate89
i would definitely want them to make a resteraunt desinged after the leaky cauldron, where they should serve butterbeer. a candy shop like honey dukes where they sell chocolate frogs and every flavor beans. a gift shop where you can buy wands and stuff like that. and they should definitely make a ride with the moving stair cases, i've always imagined that since the first movie. the should have a rollercoaster or something along those lines where we go through the maze, and jaws sort of ride with the dragon. the people who worked their would all wear robes. there would be a ride like tower of terror or something where you took a ride through hogwarts, and allllll that gooodd stuffff.
ignoredprophetofdoom
I'd want it to have a Department Of Mysteries replica! Pulling off the veil thing would be really hard though,

I love the ET ride too! The last time I rode it was the summer before my freshman year of high school and I loved it even at the slightly cynical age of 13 (a little over 10 years ago). I think I'd love it even more now. I'm such a big kid.

I think the best HP ride that would be the easiest to fit in all the story elements and take up the least space would be one of those rides with a screen and interactive seating. Kinda like the Back to the Future Ride at Universal in Florida or the Tomb Raider ride at King's Island in Ohio. It's like you're actually there. I'm not sure what the premise would be though. Maybe the Ford Anglia or a Quidditch tournament or the Triwizard Tournament (the maze from the book this time). Or like LauraKeaton said: an actual maze would be cool too.

hehehehehe!!!! I think the Potter Puppet Pals will have their own torture planed for the tourists! No Harry Potter Park would be complete without them! Except the Dumbledore character would have safety harnesses straped to his clothing.

Actually, would they have characters in costume walk around the Harry Potter section of the Park, like they do at other Amusement Parks? When Magic Mountain/Six Flags/Walibi World(They keep changing names!) had Mutant Ninja Turtles in California - the line to see them was longer than their roller coasters. I got a good laugh out of it.

Me, I want the SNAPE POTTER PUPPET PAL NOW!!!!! I can just see a whole booth of them. Merchandise hell......!

It wouldn't be the rides or games, it would be Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade that would be cool for me! All the stuff, though I am sure everything would be 15 bucks or more, but still.

Other than giving my money away tongue.gif, I would like to see the Shrieking Shack or something. Like a haunted house, I can see it now tongue.gif. That, or maybe they could have like ground-Quidditch or something tongue.gif.
DAWLISH!
I would absolutly luurveee a Harry Potter ride, at Warner Bros. Movie world on the goldcoast, (cause it's the closest to home)! The carriages would be like the ones that the thestrals take the students on every year from hogsmeade to hogwarts, and the first bit would just be like that! You would then arrive at hogwarts and move into small purple and gold carts with the Hogwarts emblem and get taken for a ride around the school. You go in to classes and pass through ghosts (at that point cold, you would feel cold air on you're face) till u get to the great hall, where you will be greeted by Prof.Mc Gonagall, as she leads you through, you go back around and go to all common rooms, the last bit would be through the quidditch pitch.

I WANT A RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone for contributing ideas! Keep them coming. I think, if we visualize it in our heads, and imagine it - then it will come true - in the future.

I love all the ideas! Imagine if Leaky Lounge had input into making it the best possible attraction?

Have a great Halloween! Keep coming up with the great ideas. No idea is too small! I would even shop in Diagon Alley, if they did it right!

Cheers! clap.gif

Helyx

If they did the Shrieking Shack - I would hope they would make the whole house move like it did in the film. No wall or floor staying in the same place. That would be incredible!
TheHeirofSlytherin
]if there were a harry potter theme park, or even just a roller coaster what do you think it would be based off of?

maybe the whomping willow or gringotts. any other ideas"?
Kimpopo
Wouldn't it be WONDERFUL if they could make a rollercoaster ride where the people would sit on brooms? They'd have you strapped in and safe of course but then they could get you to do barrel rolls, loops and dives. The broom would be on the bottom of the rails so you wouldn't see it as you flew about.

Now that would be awesome!

It is a grand possibility that Universal Studios, FL, USA will be creating a theme park at their FL location that is all about the world of HP. My family and I have been tossing out ideas of what some of the rides and attractions may be.

We think The Leaky Cauldron, as a pub (duh) toast.gif should be a main eating establishment. And of course should be the entrance to Diagon Alley Shopping area. That leads to a roller coaster ride through the vaults of Gringotts Bank. Before you can enter the park you must be "sorted" into your house. Each house would be a section of the park and Hogswart Castle would be the main hub and of course would have moving staircases and pictures that moved. Another eating area could be Hogsmede along with the candy store. Fred and George's joke shop would be included too. Somewhere in the park the would need to be a simulated broom ride/quidditch match. Last night we thought of a whomping willow tree house but instead of climbing up into it you would go down into it and there could be a maze and you would end up in the shreaking shack at the end. There might be a ride through the 6 steps to the sourcerer's stone (fluffy, devil's snare, winged keys, chess board, potions, and mirror of erised). The Ministry of magic would be a fun place to explore somehow.

Now I want some ideas from anyone reading this posting type.gif . What ride or attraction would you want to have if you went to the HP theme park? Come on wink.gif , use your imaginations. Please use the movies and/or books for your inspiration. Don't go LOTR, just Harry.
JaneMarple9
I really really don't like theme parks or fairground rides. Far too fast and noisy for me. And no, I wouldn't even been pursuaded to go to one, even if it was Harry Potter related! unsure.gif
However, I can imagine rides! I can see a theme park having a Knight Bus (complete with those ridicous shrunken heads - really did not like them in the film of PoA. What on earth was the point? ) driving along Privet Drive and into Diagon Alley etc. Probably be a pretty bumpy ride!
Also there maybe a Gringotts roller coaster. We know what the Gringotts bank was like - and we saw Harry and Hagrid take a ride in one of the carts with Griphook in book one.
And there has to be a Hogwarts Train ride too!
Supreme Mugwump
I think that I might be alone on this but i am going to say it anyway:
A HP theme park would be the most tacky awful thing that WB could possibly do ever. I think that it would completely ruin everything. I think that JKR would probably be against.

I would be very disappointed if a theme park opened it would be the result of a disgustingly commercialised, money-grabbing effort playing on the love of HP that fans the world over have.

I want a walk through Hogwarts castle complete with the Hufflepuff commmon! squee.gif I would never leave I would move and sleep there

Can I just say how awesomely cool this is? Who else thinks that this is further proof that Harry lives?

Uber cool. The guy in the orange shirt talking to Stuart Craig on the announcement video said that Universal Studios were going to use elements from both the films and the books to create the theme park on that island. Its great that Stuart Craig is helping designing the theme park. From the concept pictures it looks like the design of the park will be based on the films. But it just seems to be Hogwarts and Hogsmeade and the Forbidden Forest so far.

Would the site they are proposing be big enough? I've never been to Universal Studios before in Orlando, so I wouldn't know how big the island is.

In terms of rides I like all the above suggestions. I hope every part of the site is utilised and that it will be fully interactive with white-knuckle rides like the Firebolt on Hungarian Horntail one. I would love to go to a proper sorting hat ceremony and stroll around the ever changing Hogwarts.

Maybe they could create a proper Quidditch pitch that allows you to play the game on replica broomsticks supported on ultra strong wires or poles, with a proper cushioning charm of course. Attempting to eat Hagrid's rock cakes at his hut would also be great. Or what about interacting with animatronic Centaurs or actors playing them painted all in blue. Also playing giant wizards chess would be great. A real Zonko's or Weasley's Wizard Wheezes joke shop would be fab. And I would love to have a pint in the Three Broomsticks, Hogshead or the Leaky Cauldron. biggrin.gif

Can you imagine applying for the job of Argus Filch! Telling all the visitors off every day wishing they were in the dungeons.

A ride based on the Chamber of Secrets would be wicked. You would go into Moaning Myrtle's bathroom and talk with her, and then press a snake on one of the taps to open the chamber. It could be like a humungous mile long helter skelter ride in pitch darkness. Then you land in the chamber and proceed through the door and see the basilisk, but you have got to avoid its glaze or you'll be dead (they won't allow that of course!). excited.gif

I am glad they are at least making one. I wasn't too thrilled it's being built on an already established Island of Adventure - but possibly the plans are if it is successful to turn the full island into a Magical World.

For some strange reason I get this visual in my head of a converted Wild Mouse Ride in the Hogwarts Castle. It could be called Scabbers Excape. IF you have been on the Wild Mouse Ride at Attraction Parks - the cart has this way of tricking you with balance perception as the cart spins around a narrow track - never going the way you expect it to. They could have two carts that chase after each other - so you could be in the Crookshanks Cart or the Scabbers Cart.

I just think it would be great if they made something like this that your cart went up and down the stairs of Hogwarts Castle - and through the school corridors. All the Pictures would be moving as you passed. Possibly through the Hidden passages and winding up ducking under the punching Whomping Willow. Then the Carts take you through the Shreaking Shack (or The ride starts at the Whomping Willow instead - but I think Crookshanks liked to chase Scabbers all over Hogwarts Castle).

What I do know is that for them to make a changing rollercoaster track is not something that is feasible. It would mean gauging the weight of each cart, calculating the gravity pull from the multiple levels, and a gear plus Computer Tracking system that could adjust to all of these changes with each ride.

I just love the images of all the stairs moving in Hogwarts. Possibly they will make an inner Hogwarts where you would be able to walk up connective stairs that did change to some safety degree.

I think they could do a Scabbers Excape with the Shreaking Shack at least.

I think they are trying to make sure they have the Harry Potter Park in operation by the time of the Last Harry Potter Film. It seem logical that Universal liked how Disney had such a success with Pirates of the Carribean Film Premieres at their Amusement Park, and wants to repeat it at their own Orlando location. Disney and Universal are fierce competitors for Tourist Dollars. I might actually make a trip to go there now in 2010 (or 2011 if they are behind schedule).

Cheers,

Oh, I hope they incorporate the Harry Potter island into Halloween Horror Nights. Voldemort as a main character would be great; it would be as if he won the second war and the death eaters walked the streets. Or he could have killed the main characters and use them as Inferi to scare the guests. The opening ceremony could be Voldemort coming back, that's assuming Harry kills him. Or it could show the killing of the main characters and him bringing them back as Inferi. Sure it's morbid, but Universal always goes all-out for Halloween Horror Nights. Oh, I'm so excited!!

If I were to have my dream ride, we would be belted into either a flying motorcycle or on a broomstick. We would get on, go through a tunnel and would speed up and "apparate" into a new world of Diagon Alley. We would fly over the shops and take the path Harry did. Then we would "apparate" again and cross the lake to Hogwarts and battle the giant Squid. After that we would go on Harry's first time on a broom and do a few loops and things like that followed by catching the golden snitch. We would apparate again into the Burrow, meet the weasleys, battle LV in the Ministry of magic, and end up back on the Hogwarts express home. *I'm closing my eyes and praying that it happens*

Would love to see a ride that incorporates the Devils Snare, giving you the feeling you are being swallowed whole. Can just see the kiddie rides with merry go round thestrals and bumper dragons.Just hurry up and open soon so we can take a break from Busch Gardens & Water Country.

I would LOVE to go down Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade and buy Harry Potter things I can only get a the theme park. Plus, I want to really be able to use Wizard money.

Also, I want to eat in the Great Hall!

As for rides:

The Ford Anglia

The Whomping Willow

Sirius' motocycle

a broom

Shrieking Shack

Quidditch

There are so many possibilities! I can't wait!
Furry Little Problem
Quidditch! Oh, how I'd love to play Quidditch!

If my "dream" doesn't have to be based in reality, then a broomstick charmed to fly would only be expected. But if we're talking about what could actually be done in a Muggle theme park - well, they can do amazing thing with virtual reality helmets. The last time I played with one was quite a few years ago, and it felt real enough. I'm sure the technology has come a long way since then!

I agree, that'd be awesome to be able to play quidditch! Like john noe said, they have to have some sort of a quidditch attraction, whether vertual reality or a roaller coaster, I dont really care, I just want something quidditch based
Alanah_Gryfindor_gal
I would just love to walk around diagon alley in hogwarts robes and go to honeydukes and stuff. that would be so cool
HPhorsegirl
badger.gif I really want a Gringotts cart ride, it would be so cool, and would make the perfect rollercoaster. Also, at disney, they had this hang glider ride. I thought it would be cool if they made someting like that with buckbeak or the Thestrals.
The Golden Snitch
I would be AMAZED if they made a Whomping Willow Ride, or a Quidditch ride...maybe like a 'sit on your own broomstick' kind of ride where you race the other person (kinda like the motorbike game at arcades).
The whomping Willow ride would be sweet if they made it that the branches actually swing at you but then go up at the last second.
xxHPxADDICTxx
i think a quidditch ride would be AWESOME!!!!!! it would probably be like a 3D animation!. i also think a ride through the forbidden forest and hogwarts would be cool! a gringotts ride would be reallllly cool too! it should be like the ride in the first movie. i think it would also be realllllllllllllllllly cool if they had like a ride for each movie..like for chamber of secrets your in the chamber watching Harry fight the basilisk and the goblet of fire your in the dragon arena and maze and stuff. like u could be in a moving seat thing and in each room there are different scenes from the movie and harrys voice and stuff u kno? lol. i know there is Hogsmede and then the Hogwarts castle so u could walk through Hogsmede and hopefully they have the same shops as their. Zonkos! The Three Broomsticks! The Hogs Head! the Shrieking shack! that quill shop! and the other stores lol. they really should have the stores so its a real experience. go eat at the three broomsticks then buy something at zonkos. oo and u cant forget madame pudifoots or honeydukes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yuuuum. ooo i cant waitttttttt!!! =D

I'm so going to this. I already know, no matter how poor I am, I'm going to have a fund saved up and am going to this as soon as it opens. Wouldn't it be cool to go the week it opens and be with all these amazingly obsessed HP fans, possibly all of us, at the same time LIVING Hogwarts?!?!? *dies*

I so just want to walk through Hogwarts. I want them to have people walking around being the characters, like they do in Disney world. I want to ride the ford anglia and the gringotts cart. And I want to experience the whomping willow. I think it'd be fun to have a triwizard tournament themed ride too!! SQUEE!!!

Anyone else heard abou this Harry Potter theme park in Walt Disney World in Orland, Florida?! I just saw it on www.harrypotterorderofthepheonix.com in the movie section, under "webcast". It sounds cool to me.. what is everyone elses thoughts?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum to put this in, I looked through all of them.. and this was the one that made the most sense.
lupinwandcaster
Would you visit?
I think I would because it has a lot of potential. It could be like a Potter themed Disney (wizard hats and glasses instead mickey ears). I would be intrested to see how Hogwarts and Hogsmeade turn out like i imagined.

What do you think?
ightenhill
very likely as we have a DVC in orlando, Im not holding my breath for much though IOA is ok but I have a feeling the scale will be rather compact..
jaimedanser
I'm sure I'll visit. Maybe not right away, but eventually...yeah, of course I will!
grimwauld place
Absolutely! Can't wait to go back to Florida anyway but that makes it even better it will be so cool!
