Which book stirs your artistic juices, what tome do you want to see the images brought to life by? It's your turn to vote, comment and love the amazing pieces our fan artists have created.
Just to start you off here is some of the amazing Art from the Philosopher's Stone. The images are poignant and lovely as Harry is introduced into the wizarding world.
At first we have the wonderful works of potterartist who captures a sweet and powerful figure who will drastically change young Harry's Life. Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore.
"He was tall, thin, and very old, judging by the silver of his hair and beard, which were both long enough to tuck into his belt. He was wearing long robes, a purple cloak that swept the ground, and high-heeled, buckled boots. His blue eyes were light, bright, and sparkling behind half-moon spectacles and his nose was very long and crooked, as though it had been broken at least twice." (PS UK pg 12)
Potterartist also captures the sweetness of the other powerful backbone in Harry's life the gentle if not slightly misguided Hagrid.

They all drew their chairs up to the tale and watched with bated breath. All at once there was a scraping noise and the egg split open . The baby dragon flopped on to the table. It wasn't exactly pretty; Harry thought it looked like a crumpled, black umbrella. Its spiny wings were huge compared to its skinny body, it has a long snout with wide nostrils, the stub of horns and bulging orange eyes." (PS UK pg 171)
We can't forget the introduction of Hermione and Ron. Harry's new best friends and comrades in Arms and their friendship cementing battle with a nasty Troll in the Dungeon by Selene321.
"But from that moment on, Hermione Granger became their friend. There are some things you can't share without ending up liking each other and, knocking out a twelve-foot mountain troll is one of them." (PS UK pg 132)

"Harry had always been small and skinny for his age. … Harry had a thin face, knobbly knees, black hair, and bright green eyes. He wore round glasses held together with a lot of Scotch tape .... The only thing Harry liked about his own appearance was a very thin scar on his forehead that was shaped like a bolt of lightning." (PS2)
Here he is... a little bit worse for wear in his cousin's old clothes living in the cupboard under the stairs and befriending a snake here (SS US pg. 7) sweetly drawn by serris

First off, this is an awesome poll, second, it's too hard to choose!! I love all of it. Every book has such great moments, and so many fan artists have done fabulous work for all of them. I had to vote for all of the above. There did not seem to be any other option for me.
On a side note, I love Potterartist's version of baby Norbert, it's so adorable. Hagrid is such a proud mummy!

I also think it's pretty hard to choose. I think my favourite up here is Caladan's DoM Battle scene. (It's in the collage at the top - thanks btw for putting TWO of my pics in there aswell...)

I so agree! They are all rich sources to mine ideas from! I do think, however, the first book seems to inspire art that is less influenced by the films, which I really appreciate!
This fabulously whimsical cartoon of Dumbledore by Potterartist is a prime example --

I voted for HBP, mainly because of Makani.

I think the first or the fifth book is my favorite to draw fan art from. I noticed that when I reread the first couple of books, I pay more attention to the characters, the setting, etc. But when I get into GoF and the others after that, I get too wrapped up in the plot to notice much.

mallowsweet -- that is so true! So much of PS is description for setting up the rest of the series that there is a cornucopoeia of scenes and characters to draw from! (pardon the pun )In many ways OotP is the same way, from an artist's standpoint. All these new places and people! A perfect example is Martintenbones' version of the appearence of 12 Grimmauld Place --
What I would really like to see are artists' interpretations of St. Mungos' Hospital for Magical Maladies--that would be AWESOME!
With the final book now out, and so many FanArtists busily turning out their interpretations of the scenes in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows I have added that book to the poll.
I will be most anxious to see what the artists will turn out for this last chapter in Harry's Hogwarts saga. So far, though, I think I like the scenes from HBP and OotP that I have seen the best.

I love that one, Hagiographer! It's just so perfect!
I don't have a particular favorite when it comes to fan art for the books, I love it all! It just depends on the scene and how well it is done, (I have a million faves) and the style of the artist involved. This one, for example, is a lovely depiction of Harry at 11 (just barely!) and I really like the way Hagrid was portrayed. A great scene that is not drawn very often!
