I love love love this artist!! I think the first one I ever ran into was Harry fights the imperius curse. The perspective was fascinating to me. One of the things I like best is Martintenbones' use of perspective, like Us versus Them and Coward. So cool!
Of course I could also go on and on about the use of color and movement, but I won't. lol.gif

I love this artist, his pics are so canon and I just adore that. So many little details, working off of Jo's descriptions, it's like the scenes just popped out of my head onto paper! Yay!

Martinbones has SUCH a distinct style. It took me a little while to get used to it but now I love it! I love seeing his interpretation of canon
awesome montage Hagiographer13!

I love that picture of the Advanced Guard, Martintenbones! It's so cool how the whole Order is just sort of sitting around, examining things, waiting for a signal, while Harry stands there completely bewildered. Well done! clap.gif

Martintenbones has a very distinct and unique style! I really enjoyed his rendition of the Deathday Party, I find it slightly creepy, yet it captures the digust that the trio found when they first arrived at the Party! Congrats Martintenbones! thumbup.gif

I agree--it's funny, but a little icky too! lol.gif Since that whole scene in CoS is one of my favourites I was delighted to see it made into such an evocative piece of fan art!

LOL, this pic just cracks me up! In a positive way, obviously. Harry looks hilarious. Well done Martintenbones! biggrin.gif

Congrats! I actually saw this artist first on deviantART...lovely artwork! I love how scenes from the book are depicted. It gives it so much life. smile.gif

Us Versus Them is one of the coolest pictures here. This particular perspective really blew me away. Everything at that moment in the story is focussed on and revolves around the Prophecy. It's perfect.
LizetM
Martintenbones, one of the first artist I watched on DeviantArt!

I love that one of the Order, just the way the light hits each character, and the different, distinct poses each character is in.

I also love the way he drew each actor playing a character in the Order:IPB Image

You're awesome dude!

One of the (many) things I love about Martintenbones art is his interpretation of canon scenes from the book. I like fanon art as well, but I could spend hours looking through actual book images as realised by different artists and marvel at how the same description can generate such different images! clap.gif

It was as though an extra house had inflated, pushing those on either side out of its way.

Just exactly as I pictured it! thumbup.gif

I'm starting to feel a bit like a broken track record here, but I love that picture - it is *exactly* how I pictured it! This house just sort of appearing out of nowhere, and no one Muggles really notice it, or anything - they just continue doing whatever it was they were doing. Great picture!

I'm totally amazed and fascinated on how Martintenbones uses light and shadows: they give the sense of depth of spaces, for example in the "avant guard". And I LOVE Grimmould plase inflating between the muggle houses! The two spots of sun light in the corners of the roof highlight the scene, making it epical!!

Ah, I had to comment on this! I love Martintenbones's work! His unique perspective in so many of his illustrations (Us VS Them and Coward are my personal favorites biggrin.gif), it gives a whole new way to look at scenes from the books that have been drawn over and over by other artists. Not to take away from any one else, but Martintenbones brings a fresh new look to everything that we've seen done by many others. He's truly an artist and deserves to be featured. (I just wish the FanArt Gals were up and running!)

Everytime I look at this I have a little catch in my throat and sob because it so perfectly shows how the innocents are the prime victims in this wizarding war, as well as all others. cry.gif

Hey MartinTenbones here, just wanted to stop by and say thanks for all the nice words everyone's said and that its nice to know that other people enjoy looking at my stuff. Its all very encouraging and makes me want to draw more HP fanart (and I can't wait for Book 7 for more ideas!). Thanks again!

Hey martintenbones, seriously, awesome artwork, love it, everyone here is great
I have a question do you use photoshop to make these art pieces?

I fell in love with martintenbones' awesome work just by looking at her amazing PORTKEY picture... The vibrant colors, the background, the faces... Absolutely surreal, breath-taking, capturing the entire experience perfectly..

I quite agree, ~Mrs.Brisby~, he brings a whole new persepctive to what is essentially canon inspired art. Here is Us and Them --

He recreates a whole chapter represented by a single image! clap.gif

Most of my art is drawn in pencil and then colored on the computer, mainly in photoshop but I've also used Artrage and Painter. Glad you like. smile.gif

Well-said, birthday twins! thumbup.gif Harry Resists the Imperius Curse was the first of Martintenbones works that caught my eye (pun intended!) --

The thing I LOVE about Martintenbones is that he so often depicts canon scenes and characters that no one else does! I have yet to see another image of Dennis Creevey --

Here in the FanArt Gallery

I loved the Creevey brothers in the books, and Dennis is so funny and such a true Gryffindor! This is just fabulous! thumbup.gif

That image is FANTASTIC!!!!! I nearly died laughing at how well the artist captured the expression on Dennis' face. Despite the fact that he is obviously SOAKING wet, he is just so excited to be there. He's also so little in Hagrid's HUGE jacket! I love it all the way around, and it made me laugh a bit when I saw it. Great job!

Artistically the way that the water around his feet is drawn is fantastic. It looks very real! I imagine it must be very hard to capture the reflective properties of water in Fan Art, but it is done very well in this image. Even a little drop has been added in to show that Dennis is still dripping.

Martintenbones just uploaded this marvelous new image of Voldemort losing the Elder Wand to Harry, from the soon-to-be-late Dark Lord's perspective --

Here in the FanArt Gallery

As Harry enters his Alchemical "Gold Stage", we see the burst of Golden sunlight through the enchanted ceiling of the Great Hall. I love the forlorn outstretched grasp of LV's hands . . . well-done! clap.gif

Once again Hagiographer13 you beat me too it!

I LOVE this picture! The way that the ceiling is depicted is fantastic! Also the perspective is really different, which I love. It really allows you to see Voldemort reaching for the wand in desperation. I love it.

Another great piece by Martintenbones

A new addition to Martintenbones's gallery is this amazing picture of the Peverell Brothers and Death

with the larger image here

The coloring and detail is very striking. My favorite part is how the artist makes sure to include the Deathly Hallows symbol.
Hagiographer13
This time you beat ME to it, KimmyBlair! tongue.gif

This is such a striking image! The mask-like qualities of the brothers' faces reminds me of Death Eater masks, which, in turn, I always assumed would be similar to the "death masks" that are often made of notable deceased figures . . . Although I envisioned the DE ones to be grotesque and exaggerated to strike fear into their victims. darkmark.gif

I would be curious to know if Martintenbones intended them to appear as "death masks" given the nature of the story. ponder.gif

Anyway, awe-inspiring work!
