Having closed
Part One of this thread
we will now post in here instead
please feel free to quote
the things that we wrote
or refer to the things that we said.
In case you missed the tutorial, this is a limerick:
QUOTE(Lorelei du Lac @ Feb 1 2007, 10:14 PM)

To be a Limerick, a verse MUST have:
Five lines
Lines one, two, and five MUST each have exactly three metric feet
Lines three and four MUST each have exactly two metric feet
Lines one, two, and five MUST rhyme
Lines three and four MUST rhyme
Any nonsense poem that lacks five lines, thirteen metric feet, or the aabba rhyme pattern is simply not a Limerick. It might be a sing-song or a la-de-da, but it's not a Limerick.
Happy posting ... have fun

May your verses be inspired

im terrible at writing a limerick,
the words in my head dont seem to stick,
so i'll have a tea,
or watch some tv,
and then i'll get right back on to it.

It's good, Richard!
I want to proclaim admiration for Ron
Whom I think is a number one
He's kind and brave
His friends he will save
And his story will go on.
I wanted to write a little appreciation piece for Ron because I think he's a great character who gets bashed too much. I'll write one for Ginny later.

Yeah, Ron sometimes gets given a hard time
Ron Weasley's a really great guy
he started off poor and quite shy
he's been a true friend
from start through to end
he's not perfect but neither am I.

Yay limericks! This thread will never die!!!

Great limericks so far everyone!! I came up with a quick one, just so I'd have one in Part 2:
In Gringotts Bank you can store
Galleons, Sickles, and more
Rare cups or a sword,
All you can afford,
Unless you're a Weasley and poor.

There's no better things than half-Kneazles
for warning of bad rats or measles
except for perhaps
some Marauder's Maps
that Fred and George stole - oh those weasels!

lol so I thought of writing an ode to Crookshanks but, the only thing that I could think of to rhyme with Crookshanks is Tom Hanks which just went off on a really weird tangent lol. But I kind of felt inspired to write about our super-cat

Yeah the last line's often the problem. In a limerick, your last line has to rhyme with the first 2--so your last line should actually rhyme with Dean.
For example:
"And then turned a strange shade of green" would work for the last line.
But your limerick is otherwise good, and it's funny, and that's a plus cuz they're better when they're funny!
