The world of FanArt can be a funny place. Tucked in between incredible images of beauty, romance, and poignant sadness, there can be found hysterically funny pieces of art that show their creators' sly senses of humor and fun.

The diversity of these pieces is amazing. Some take an element of canon and go one step further, like this piece by Lady_Voldything.

Then there are those who comment on the current debate happening in the fandom, like this one by artdungeon. I remember laughing out loud when I first saw it!

Also Makani has some fantastic humorous art, often poking fun at the Malfoys. I'll have to go find some of my favorites and post them!

ROTFL I LOVE this one!!! It was on my list of ones to post that I adore.

Everything about this one is incredibly funny, but several things get me the most. The way Snape phrases "AK'ed Harry Potter" in his story just gets me giggling uncontrollably. Nagini curled in her little basket just kills me, and the barely visible blissful smile on Voldemort's face absolutely makes this picture. Love love love it!

The thing I love the most about Jo Rowling's books is their wonderfully character-driven humour. It is this type humour, rather than the topical comedy more commonly found in contemporary writing, that assures the Potter series a place in literary history. The FanArtist community in large part has embraced this timeless comedy and imbued much of their work with it.

Completely agree with Hagiographer13 - Rowling's humour in her books crack me up no end and its bloody brilliant to see other people's humour expressed in their art.

There are a few pics I've come across which easily make me LOL. Unfortunately at the moment, my memory is rubbish and I can only remember a couple for now....there are much more that I'll remember later, but for now. Makani has a wonderful image with Hermione and Santa:

The Disillusion one by Flayra is a cracking play on words. When I saw this one I couldn't stop laughing.

I think that makani has some of the best humorous drawings. I love all her silly interpretations.

I love Makani's art for its humor, but Cambryn in the Leaky Fan Art gallery (Hllary CW on Deviant Art) is incredibly gifted, but also extremely funny.

This is too funny, I love all of these, just because sometimes its good to see these characters act a little .... well out of characater

I thought the pensieve scene was funny because it showed how much Harry, and we, (not all of us, including me) missed the point of that scene. And then Snape with his look...

Notions of Potions is sooooo adorable! I can't get the Rat Snack comics to load, but I'll try again. Perhaps I'll go to her website and see what I can find. The Maruaders one with the large animal tramplings loaded, and it made me laugh out loud!

I giggled when first saw this picture by gastave and I still laugh every time I look at it!! I just love the determined look of innocence on Snape's face with the accompanying "what?". LOL Harry looks a bit perplexed!



sulkyskrewt just keeps coming up in this thread, so here's another one! I remember howling with laughter when I saw this one, while even at the same time I wistfully wished it were true, especially in Fred's case. (BTW the story behind Snape/Fawkes is that Fawkes landed to see dead Snape and laughed so hard tears came to his eyes and accidentally revived him. The mental image of Fawkes the phoenix crying tears of laughter just cracks me up!

The artist koenta (on deviantart) is always great for a good laugh, and I recently saw this fanart about Dumbledore and Harry (I hope it's appropriate, lol):
