just wondering, i was watching gof to day and i noticed a part before the maze were dd says "they may only send up red sparks with their wand " and makes a little guesture towards his wand as i f no one knows what a wand is
[sarcastic voice] i mean its not like every one has a wand or any thing [/ sarcastic voice]

any one else noticed any like "hmmm you dont say" or "yes we know what a wand is" moments?

When Fudge comes out of the Floo Grate and sees Voldemort and says "He's Back" I always mutter under my breath in the same style of whisper. "No way"

When Hermione yells at Harry in GoF "I'm not an owl!" *sarcastic* Really!...I didn't notice *Sarcastic* Of all the things she could have said. It had to be that. Next thing you know she'll be fighting to free all of the "enslaved" owls that have to deliver the wizard's mail without getting paid.

lol - yeah - thats another one i always get anoyed at. the thing is those stupid little things like that make me laugh at parts your not meant to laugh at. i think theres also a scene were every time harry says "my scar" he touches his head. and im like "yeah, we know where your scar is."

Well, I was LOL in the first scene of OoTP movie, where Dudley confronts Harry at the playground, and he says.. 'Where is you mummy Potter? Is she dead?...

I know that it's not supposed to be funny at al, but the way Dudley days it is so hilarious.....
holic
I didn't laugh much at ootp movie, except at scenes I found awkward and stupid. So on second thought, I guess I laughed quite a lot.
The rest of the audience however laughed at pretty much EVERYTHING, it was so annoying, most of them may have been children but I don't care, I just wanted to yell at them to shut up.
Like when Dudley had been confronted by the dementor, and he looked a little insane and everyone around me thought that was so funny, while I was like 'Come on, he's been attacked by a dementor!!!' but the way he acted in that scene, I don't know, maybe it was meant to be funny.
blue4t
I laugh at stupid things all the time, like in GOF after Harry's been awarded second place in the second task, some Durmstrang student boos. It cracks me up.
3ps
I must admit i laughed at dudders face when harry was helping home in the ootp.
Tani Ann
I couldn't help but laugh all through Dumbledore's escape scene in OotP, every time Dawlish came on the screen. Also, there's a lot of scenes throughout all of the movies, where something will be going on with the trio, and the twins can be seen in the background. I tend to laugh at them sometimes, like in SS when Ron's meeting Nearly Headless Nick, and one of the twins is just chilling out, eating some chicken while Nick shows his inch of skin and sinew.

Oh, yes. My sister had to point out that his eyes aren't the same size and I can't help thinking that everytime I watch the whole beginning scene.

At the end of OotP, when Voldemort is invading Harry's mind, there's one moment where he kind of poses really strangely. At first I thought it was a trick of my imagination, but the second time I saw the film it was there, and I cracked up. I know it was supposed to be a sad moment, with Sirius just having died, but then he poses and.. lol.gif There's loads more, but I can't remember them now..
Gryffindor51
The Dudley scene in OOTP at the beginning.....I kinda chuckled the first time I saw it and by the 3rd I just had to laugh.....he sounds like he has a bag of marbles in his mouth! I hope he doesn't really talk that like in real life.....my bad if he does.

When Voldemort invades Harry....every time I get choked up, but when you see Voldemort and he's like standing there with the landscape flying behind him...makes me giggle a little....I still don't understand that section.

In GOF when that random new Gryffindor kid says "It's like catching smoke with your bare hands.".....oh classic randomness

yep, thats the bit i was going to go for! it truly cracks me up. the first time i watched it i was in the midst of being really impressed by the whole scene and suspending my disbelief, and then all of a sudden lvs... well, i dont really know what hes doing, but when i first saw it i got the bizarre impression he was baring a nipple in harrys direction, which ive subsequently determined was totally my imagination, thankfully. but the last flying background scene, where harry *overthrows* lv, is spectacularly amusing, where lv sort of groans and disappears backwards. outstanding stuff, i think its genius! we need more like that!

another scene which ive always thought a bit odd is in cos when ron and the twins first show harry into the burrow, and ron sort of looks around when he says "its not much..." as if he too is seeing the place for the first time. its his home isnt it?!

Was the bathroom scene in Goblet of Fire suppoesed to funny? It kinda made me sick... dry.gif

And what was with that horrible freeze fame of Harry's face at the end of PoA?

The kid who said "It's like trying to catch smoke with you bare hands" had another random line -- "The Grim.... *really intense look on face* ... it's one of the darkest omens of our world...."

Actually that was in PoA, but it is quite funny to watch. Didn't the same boy also say something in Trelawney's lesson?

I just love watching the Quidditch World Cup bit where the Weasleys and Harry walk to their tent and I try to look at different things each time, like the house-elves on horseback.

Dudley looked like he had extreme constipation after the Dementor attack in OoTP. tongue.gif

yes, that bit is really quite ludicrous. the way lupin launches into the speech, apropos of nothing.

rons eulogising krum after the world cup in gof. its really bizarre, i think he gets the delivery totally wrong or something, and as it cuts so quickly from the pre-match build up youre really not at all sure whats going on...

Has anyone mentioned Dan's bizarre scream "He was their friend!" in POA?

That made me laugh - maybe cause it was so horribly done, I dont know just made me crack up despite the scene. tongue.gif
vandy
In PS when harry says, "Give it here malfoy or i'll knock you off your broom"...
i still crack up when i watch that scene....... it makes me say..."dan has really improved a llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllot"....

And of course the "he was that friend" from PoA..... OMG it was supposed to be emotional but.... i dont know i always sort of laugh out loudly.... lol.gif

well when i went to c ootp i was the only one laughing at some points and i couldn't help but think if it wasn't suppossed to be funny,, or if these people just hadn't read the book.

I find a scene hilarious in Goblet of Fire, when Dumbledore interrogates Harry. The way he does it makes me half to expect him to ram Harry into a wall, give him five or six punches in the ribs, then a couple of kicks while he's down.

Haha...I thought the same thing! I was like woah, Dumbledore, ease up or you'll kill him! tongue.gif

There are a lot of parts in the movies that I laugh at that aren't supposed to be funny, like the "he was their friend" scene. Also, right before that when Harry knocks over the carolers and Ron and Hermione follow him and Ron stops and says "Merry Christmas" or something like that. Cracks me up every time! biggrin.gif

And to think that will probably be Robert Hardy's last ever line in a HP film, seeing as Fudge resigned as Minister of Magic after OoTP. console.gif

lolabove.gif No, it's not your imagination about the nipple! I had the SAME bizarre impression! No kidding. I think it's the way he's holding his hands...I don't know. I had the same thoughts about Ron and Fred and George at the Burrow in CoS, too, but I've since determined that they're just looking around for Molly, waiting for her to beat the living daylights out of them for driving the enchanted car.

Yeah like Buckbeak's poo in the CoMC lesson in PoA. biggrin.gif

Making it even more pathetic, somehow, is the fact that those aren't horses the house-elves are riding on, they're alpacas or llamas. Strange. And I didn't see Buckbeak pooping until about my hundred twenty-eighth viewing of PoA...I don't know how on earth I didn't see that before, but I laughed out loud when I saw it the first time.

LOL That's a good one. He is just a bit intense.

I can't help laughing in PoA when Lupin changes at the Whomping Willow. I have this running commentary in my mind when the trio are huddled together and Ron says, "Nice doggie," that one of them will pull out their wand and say, "See the stick, go get the stick!" Then the other two will be "Oh yeah! We have wands! What has he been teaching us all year! DUH!"

As the Have you ever noticed? thread seems to have been limboed I'll post here.

Last night when I was watching PS/SS on my laptop I noticed somehting on the Hogwarts Express scene that I never did before. When Harry and Ron start eating all the sweets on the outer wall of the compartment you can see a little metal cigarette ash tray. I know that is what it is because of being on many steam trains and old slam doors before. And those little flip up things are ash trays.

Also when the Trio come to tell McGonnagal about the Philosophers Stone you can see a female ghost sitting at a desk writing something. All those little details that the filmakers put in.

In the movies during OotP,many people were laughing at scenes that were funny enough, but not enough to make me laugh, such as the one where Mrs.Figg describes Harry and Dudley instead of the dementors. Now that was a little funny.I give a little chuckle but never laugh.
My brother got board and kept on screaming "Donkey" in "Shrek" way.
That made me laugh.

Plus they take all the time during the time-turner sequence in the hospital wing to include all those funny patients in the speeded-up bit, like the man being full body-wrapped mummy-like in a bandage and those two nurses.

Watching CoS again last night and I was wondering about Errol the owl. Specifically the bit where he flew into the Burrow front window delivering the post. When they showed him righting himself he did not look like a real owl, more of an animatronic one. I wonder if they employ stunt owls for scenes such as that and if they get paid more than regular actor owls? ponder.gif

When the boy in PoA says, "It's like catching smoke, like catching smoke with your bare hands." It's just the way he says it.
And I'm caught between laughing and cringing when Harry says, "I love magic!" in GoF.
Pottergirl4123
Ya, my best friend and I like laugh a lot at all the movies because we are both huge fans and we both have like lots of inside jokes with Potter involved, I will just give you some of the things we laugh at.

PS/SS-"Nearly Headless, how can you be nearly headless?"-Hermione
Harry is looking at Hermione when she says this, and then if you look closely, he rolls his eyes and looks at Nearly Headless Nick. This makes my friend and I crack up all the time!

CoS- "Why couldn't it be Follow the Butterflies?"-Ron
My friend and I laugh because on potterpuppetpals.com, there is Ron where Ron's like "Follow the Butterflies, Follow the Butterflies WEEEEEEEEE! La la la la la la la!" and then Hermione is like "Ronicus Explodicus" and Ron's head explodes! So we laugh at that.
O and when the are trying to get on the Platform, we paused it on Daniel Radcliffe's butt once, it was of course on accident!

PoA- When Harrry and Hermione are trying to get past the whomping willow, some of the stuff they do just makes me laugh!
And when Harry is crying because Sirius betrayed his parents, I have to laugh at his crying because it is seriously too fake for me!

GOF- Ok, I can hardly quote this because of how much we laughed about it, but when Voldemort's like
"Step aside Wormtale, so we can give our guest, a proper greeting. AVADA KEDAVRA!"
*Teapot screaming*
My friend and I acted this out while we were out at dinner and she did the tea pot sound and it was really loud and so many people looked over and we were like crying!

OOTP-
When Cho's like "Expellirums"(Actual way she says it)
It makes me laugh cause the way she says it!

So ya. Sometimes I shouldn't be laughing.
helena123
Well, I can honestly say I haven't watched films 1-3 for like 5 years so I can't really remember anything about them. But the acting was so bad, that almost everything they said was completely hilarious.

3) Emma's eyebrows in GoF. Enough said. They're so out of control I almost wet myself everytime I see the movie(okay so I've watched it only two times, but that's enough for me). Now my sister and I have a habit of imitating her, especially everytime we talk about her.

2) 'Cedric did know this stuff, he was really good at it. It's just that Voldemort was better.' I accidently snorted quite loudly and the woman next to me looked at me like I was a bit odd. But come on! Really smooth, Harry. You really know how to cheer up the girl!

1) Hands down, when Voldemort was possessing Harry(my all time favourite scene in HP movies) he did this really weird pose. You can only see it for like a second so I didn't catch it in the theatre, but when I watched it on Youtube I almost fell from my chair, I couldn't believe it. THE MOST RANDOM THING EVER!

You can see it here, pause at 3.42. Voldemort sticks his tongue out and does something weird with his nipple. For no reason at all. LMAO.

So funny... excited.gif
moony_lupin
Watching PoA again last night I noticed some weird creature in Hagrid's hut during the bit where the Trio are talking to him just before Buckbeak is to be executed. When future Hermione throws the pumpkin stones to alert the normal Trio to the Minister and Dumbldore's arrival Hagrid gets a large blanket and puts it over this funny looking creature sitting in a basket that was making funny croaking noises throughout the scene. There is a brief glimpse of it before Hagrid puts the blanket down but I can't find a screencap for it on the LeakyGals. I'm not sure but I think it might be a Blast-Ended Skrewt. ponder.gif

I read in an EFX mag around the time of the first film that most of the owl shots are fake. Owls can't fly very far and the claws on Hedwig are too much of a risk to Harry's arm, so Hedwig is definitely fake most of the time. So they probably used mostly CG for anything they wanted Errol to do. Working with the owls was very difficult.
