With the US release of the OotP DVD, there are included some tantalizing first-look peeks at the Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince film! As mentioned on TLC Main this footage includes glimpses of Draco cursing Harry on the Hogwarts Express, Harry and Ginny, Slughorn's hidey-home, and Harry discussing the horcruxes with Dumbledore!

As much as I disliked that I got spoiled so much for OotP, I can't help but want even MORE HBP stuff than what we got for OotP before the movie came out.

From that Sneak Peak, the movie doesn't look too bad. They are putting in so much more than I thought they would. Quidditch is back, Draco Malfoy (looking sexier than ever!) but finally has a good scene to be filmed, etc. LOL but those Quidditch outfits are crazy!


Well, I'm excited. I can't wait another eleven months to see it!

LOL, I get the impression Dan was teased mercilessly for the all the Cho scenes in the last film. I feel bad for Rupert . . . Looks like Dan's out for some revenge! Hehehehe!

Eee, I hope they don't make Ron look too goofy. I'm not really too worried because I really like Yates and what he did with Order of the Phoenix. I'm glad Quidditch is back and love the look of the Slytherin robes. The Gryffindor robe they showed . . . I wonder if that's Ron's Keeper robe? That might explain the extra padding . . .

Looked like Dumbledore and Harry at the Dursley's ... very cool. And dang Matt Lewis looks so grown up, with his stubble. Heh.

OOOOH I'm so excited!! We know that Ron will be playing quidditch, but has anyone heard if Ginny is? I haven't heard Bonnie talk about Quidditch in interviews, but I hope they include her because it is just so perfect in setting up the H/G kiss

I really like the look of the new Quidditch robes--they remind me very much of those used in the QWC scenes in Goblet of Fire.

*wonders if "Weasley is our king" will somehow make it into this film instead*

Oh I agree. They have to do the whole Ginny captures the snitch/Harry kisses her thing. It would just lose something without that don't you think?



I loved the new quidditch robes too, but I do hope they leave out the leather helmet thing. I didn't really think that was very great.

To add to all the Sneak Peek excitement, we now have some footage shot during filming at Gloucester Cathedral as they attempted to get on film any of the big names at work that day. They have a nice shot of Rupert catching some air in costume, and Alan Rickman out for a walk. David Yates appears for a brief moment to say filming is going well, and several stand-ins for the actors were seen, as well as the students being used as extras leaving at the end of the day.

If it is the HBP Sneak Peeks you are referring to, you have to insert the DVD into the CD-Rom of your computer and follow the steps to let it guide you to them on the internet. It's not there in the Special Features to bring up and view.

..oh well that explaines it then.. haha!!

Exactly! I swore I wouldn't watch all the trailers/clips of next film after OOTP. I saw everything available I think as I am sure most of us did and I think it ruined it for me. When I saw the film finally at the cinema it seemed like a sequence of trailers I had already seen. Was rather disappointed and I am pretty sure this was due to my impatience in making sure I watched all preview clips available. However hear I am desperate to see any and all tiny bits of HBP!!!!!!!!!!!!! How sad are we? I should probably go bath the kids!

yea, i never find much fun in watching the-makeing-of the movie before seeing the movie itself.. it definatly takes the magic away and you dont get as sumberged in the story.
but its really hard to resist!! im so damn hungry for these movies i have to taste every little sample before im allowed to sit at the table!! ..and by the time i can sit, im too full and theres no suprise left.

but what i think ruined ootp more for me, was actually not the trailers, but re-reading the book RIGHT before i saw it.. i knew exactly what lines would be next and what lines SHOULD be next, i was too busy noticing what was wrong and what was changed or cut, and it made it seem alot shorter.
i wont be makeing that mistake again.. i havent read hbp in almost a year and im not touching it untill i see the movie.

and as far as the trailers go, they seem to be alot tighter with it than they were with ootp.. i hope they keep that going. ..even though i am STARVING for that movie and have been since before ootp, i'd like to keep some of the suprises and not have them ruined by trailers or people who've seen them.

Exactly, after OOTP you know you shouldn't watch HBP trailers etc. but once they're released there will be very little resistance, on my part anyway. Maybe I am just a very weak HP fan.

It is nice that they put the scene with Draco on the train in. I was worried that might get cut, because it wasn't that crucial to the plot.

Interesting that they're bringing back Quidditch from the 5th year. I thought they were just going to trash that storyline. Wonder how they're going to factor Ron's poisoning into it.

Lastly, it seems like they are taking the same dramatic love stance from the last one. At least it actually makes sense in this one.

The fantastic TLC Video Galleries have this cool interview up, here. It appears from the costumes that there are several scenes from different parts of the book that were being filmed, so it will be fascinating to see how it all comes together. Rumour is, as mentioned on TLC Main, that we may have an HBP teaser trailer on May 16th with the Prince Caspian Narnia film.

I really hope they show a bit of Slughorn, and the cave, and Lavender Brown and do NOT show the Harry/Ginny kiss like they did with OotP. I want that to be special just for the complete film.

I think Slughorn and Lavender should be a given, plus some Dumbledore teaching Harry lessons. I agree that they should not focus as much on the kiss this time round like for OoTP. Ron playing Quidditch and young Tom Riddle/Voldemort, oh and a creepy cave bit with Inferi.

I really enjoy the HP games, and especially appreciated the graphics for the OotP game. I hope that they maintain that high level of realism for the new game!

I am with you there Hagiographer! I love the HP video games, and I really enjoyed the graphics on the OotP one. I really loved the Dark Mark portrayal on the HBP game trailer, very eerie! I'll definitely be buying this game!

A new trailer has been released today by EA Games for the HBP videogame, due out on 13 November --

As mentioned on TLC Main James and Oliver Phelps gave a new interview at the recent Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany. The twins talked about how they auditioned for the roles of Fred and George Weasley and about the development of the forthcoming HBP video game, later providing a demo on the Wii console in front of a large audience. The HBP game is still slated for release on 13 November 2008.

The demo with the 2 of them is really fun to watch, and so makes me want to get a Wii--I think the HBP game will be AWESOME for this platform! Great video!
