I love them all, and it was hard to choose. I ended up choosing the one I thought kind of unique.

I really like the stark simplicity of KimmyBlair's 3rd place winner--but I find myself utterly mesmerized by the animated globe by JeffHPFan . . .

I agree! That is some pretty cool animation!

I personally liked how Blue4t used the Leaky header and placed it on the state of MA! I never would of thought of that!

Thanks. I was trying to go with the whole "the world coming together in Boston for this event" kinda feel with the globe, except for the fact that my text wouldn't come out right. The animation wouldn't cooperate with it, and since I'm not an expert I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get the text better, but alas, I still like the avvi.

I also love how Blue4t made the shape of Mass.

Thank you! I got a new monitor today and I see the smudginess in the text of my icon. Oh, what I could have done if I had this monitor earlier...

The blurriness didn't take away that much from the icon for me, it was mostly the border that bothered me. Because I am a perfectionist, the slight "imperfections" threw me off. But it's a really great avatar, and I still admire your idea to put it in the shape of Massachusetts, seriously amazing!

Hee, yeah, I really like Jeff's black and white icon. It's nice and smooth, and the picture itself is quite pretty. XD


And my question still hasn't been answered....Will there ever be any future Icontests or other graphic contests? Just curious, seeing as I missed both Icontests this year. *sigh*

Never mind, I just found the thread to the next Fan Art Icontest. I get lost in all the contest threads sometimes. XD

Thanks a bunch. To be honest, I was really surprised it took first. I didn't honestly have that much confidence in that avatar, but I guess people liked it.
I understand completely if your monitor was bad before why some of the stuff might not have been visible. It's cool, the avatar still looked great.

As you noticed we do have another contest going now. We are planning on running the contests for two weeks (one week for submissions, and the other for voting) alternating between Image Gallery and Fan Art, for as long as you guys are interested! (Which is hopefully a long time!)

So keep on submitting those icons, and we'll keep running the icontests!

I have no idea what this show is about, as I said when I voted, but I chose Hagiographer13's icon-- #1. I liked that icon a bunch. All of the icons were really great! I actually liked #5 a lot as well and was surprised it didn't take a winning place.

I agree, Haghiographer13! While there aren't as many entries as the fanart iContest, these icons are all really great!

They are all really nice! I like how each icon has a different picture. It's a better variety! Very nice and good luck to all who entered.

OMG, I can't believe it! I made two icons for the contest and I thought I had already sent one of them in and I didn't! Oh, well, at least I got one and this is some stiff competition this week. I'll post the other icon in the avatar thread.

It's amazing how many different icons can be made from just two pictures. Well done everyone.
Someone did do an icon that I was thinking of (but didn't get around to doing).
