It seems to me that the number seven appears a lot in the HP books beginig with the amount of books in the series seven.
Voldy tried to make seven horcruxes, I know he made eight but the Harrycrux was an accident. Arthur and Molly had seven children, Bill, Chatlie, Percy, Fred and George, Ron and Ginny. There were seven potters who left Private drive for the last time. There are seven players on a Quidditch team, three chasers, two beaters, a keeper and a seeker. A less obviouse seven is the seven times Harry meets Voldy face to face: 1. When Harry is a baby and Voldy kills James and Liliy 2. Harry saving the pholosophers/sorceres stone from Voldy/Quirrell 3. In the graveyard in Little Hangleton 4. In the Ministry of Magic when Voldy tried to posess Harry 5. When Harry left Private drive for the last time. 6. In the forrest when Harry tries to sacrafice himself to Voldy 7. In the Great Hall of Hogwarts in the final showdown when Voly (in the words of peeves) becomes mouldy There are, I am sure, more than I have listed here I either havn't come across them or havn't remebered them.
