As you may have noticed, members aren't allowed to start their own threads in the crafts section. This has been implemented because we'd like to avoid being spammed by spambots.. or nasty people who think it's fun to ruin everyone else's surprise.
Many threads have already been created in the forum, and they *should* allow you to discuss pretty much everything Harry Potter and crafty you can think of. However, if you look around and can't find what you're looking for, please come here and ask us where you could post about such a thing. One of our crafty witches will pop in here and either
A) Direct you to the appropriate thread
B) Create a new thread for you if indeed the subject you wish to discuss isn't covered by any of our existing threads.
On this, enjoy yourself crafting until you drop... and feeling safer that you won't find a "Snape kills Dumbledore" type of spoiler within this section
Craftily yours,

Tha Leaky Cauldron's Crafty Witches
I've been working on CAD blueprints of Goathland Station (Aka Hogsmead) for an HO scale reproduction and was looking for a place on the forums to discuss it... thought crafts would be it, but it looks like it's more about finished projects... Does such a place exist in the lounge?
Thanks
Hi, Questarian! You might want to check out our http://www.leakylounge.com/betaforum2.3.1/index.php?showtopic=28163&view=getnewpost. It's a great place to discuss ongoing projects and get feedback.
Also, when you complete your project, make sure to send pics to crafts@the-leaky-cauldron.org for us to post in the galleries!
I'm not sure if I should post ideas for Halloween costumes in "Costuming for the Summer of Potter" or if there's another thread that I should use. I really need help completing my Luna look!
Thanks!
elphaba731
We have a Halloween thread http://www.leakylounge.com/betaforum2.3.1/index.php?showtopic=34277&pid=0 we could surely revive for the occasion
Thanks so much!
hearts,
elphie
What thread should I post pictures of my newly finished Gryffindor scarf in?
Hi, MagicDucks! A big WOOT! to you for finishing your scarf!!
If your scarf is knit in the PS/SS style, the thread for posting pictures is http://www.leakylounge.com/betaforum2.3.1/index.php?showtopic=47218&pid=1259506&st=0&#entry1259506.
We don't have a thread for the knit PoA style scarves, as of yet, so if it is knit in that style, feel free to e-mail us the pictures directly and we'll add them to our great http://gallery.the-leaky-cauldron.org/category/596!
Thank you! Mine is the SS/CoS style, so I'll post in that thread.
i have been waiting so patiently for the crochet section to come back online, YAH!!!!!!! only trouble is the pattern i've been looking for isn't back up. I am looking of PoA wristwarmers, to go with my newly crocheted PoA scarf. since i am new to the forum, i'm not even sure this is the correct place to post. thanks for you help.
to the forum Dragonfairy!
This is indeed the right place to post for anything you'd like regarding the crafts section. The http://gallery.the-leaky-cauldron.org/picture/46493 are not in the crochet section... because they aren't crocheted, but knitted. I don't know if you know how to knit... if you don't, maybe the crocheters among us (read: anyone but me!
) can help you figure out how to convert the knitting pattern into a crochet pattern.
I really like those wristwarmers too... I'll probably be making myself a pair eventually, as it gets exceedingly cold in the office during winter
i did find pictures on the gallery of beautiful crocheted ones, but they were called "gauntlets" by maybe someone named amber? searching the forums got me to old postings but the link doesn't work. any help would be greatly appreciated. this will be my first cold winter, just having moved from miami. thanks.
Ahhh! You mean http://gallery.the-leaky-cauldron.org/picture/119872 or http://gallery.the-leaky-cauldron.org/picture/119875.
Amber being a crafty witch here, we'll probably be able to give you a hand with this. Stay tuned!
thanks so much, will stay tuned...
Hallo Dragonfairy!!
Welcome!
How can I be of assistance with the gauntlet/wristwarmer things?
hp5freak (amber);)
i would just love to have a pair of those gorgeous gauntlets to match my PoA scarf....but i can't find a tutorial... do you have a link?
thanks
Hey there Dragonfairy,
There should be a tute up in the next couple of days on how to do the wristwarmers the way I make them. I hope you find the pattern and tute useful. ![]()
amber (hp5freak)
thanks sooooo much hp5freak
getting ready for my first cold winter moving up from miami..
will it be crochet???
But of course, darlin'....
I *am* the crochet fiend after all...
I'm sure this belongs somewhere in the "Parties" forum, but...
Where would I go discussing the Horcrux hunt I made for my brother's birthday party?
Here ya go, elphaba731! Try http://www.leakylounge.com/index.php?showtopic=28356&view=findpost&p=828579.
Also, if you'd like to send your game instructions to crafts@the-leaky-cauldron.org, I'll get it uploaded to the forum under its own thread and uploaded as a tutorial on the main site!
Your game sounds great, I can't wait to hear about it!!
Sent! Thanks, I didn't think about sending it before!
Hi Guys,
Just about to post my first thread (costuming related) and wondered if you could advise me where the best place to post it might be?
It's a plea for help / starting point for discussion about creating "movie accurate" Death Eater & Voldemort costumes? (actually, the Voldemort one might be best in its own discussion as I think it would also be cool to be able to discuss the prothetics side of things which might go a bit off track from the Death Eater side of things?)
Anyway, I've got my floo powder at the ready
Thanks
Kessa
Hiya, Kessa! You'd be needing the Sewing & Fabric Embellishment Q&A thread.
No floo powder required, just http://www.leakylounge.com/Sewing-and-Fabric-Embellish-t55247.html&view=getnewpost for instant apparation!
Apologies for asking what no doubt is a dumb question but, I cant find the tutorial for the Hufflepuff House Friendship bracelet. This morning I just broke the last that I had made for myself ... I guess that's kind of long lasting because, I have worn them the whole time. But, I would like to make myself another but, I cant remember how to do the spirally knotting thing.
Please and thank you
