[20:00] <bookworm1102> uh oh
[20:01] <MrMcGonagall> We don't need any more water balloons in Oklahoma, thank you very much. We're wet enough as it is.
[20:01] <SoonerGryffindor> I have enough floating around in my back yard to last a long time
[20:01] <SoonerGryffindor> yep
[20:01] <futureweasley> hi everyone!
[20:01] <MrMcGonagall> Hi, future!
[20:01] <bookworm1102> too much rain make it stopsmile
[20:01] <futureweasley> sorry, slow on the uptake today!

[20:02] <MrMcGonagall> I'm in the process of building an ark. It's rained the past 17 days or so here.
[20:02] <SoonerGryffindor> close enough
[20:02] <SoonerGryffindor> Mr M is in Stillwater, I am in OKC
[20:02] <bookworm1102> same general area
[20:02] <SoonerGryffindor> I mowed this week in the rain
[20:02] <SoonerGryffindor> that is really bad
[20:02] <MrMcGonagall> Yeah, north Texas has been hit hard by this weather.
[20:03] <bookworm1102> and there is more to come
[20:03] <futureweasley> I'm in Michigan and it's been loverly the past few days
[20:03] <MrMcGonagall> I don't remember what sunshine looks like. LOL
[20:03] <futureweasley> it's not often I can brag about nicer weather than Texas or Oklahoma...so I will take it where I can get it
[20:03] * SoonerGryffindor starts making water balloons to hit future with

[20:04] <MrMcGonagall> Hi, joyhawk!
[20:04] *** nympheart has joined #lounge
[20:04] <SoonerGryffindor> hey joyhawk
[20:04] <SoonerGryffindor> hey nymph
[20:04] <Joyhawk2121> Hello everyone

[20:05] <MrMcGonagall> How aare you doing, nymph?
[20:05] <futureweasley> hi nympheart
[20:05] <MrMcGonagall> We've just been discussing the awful weather in the central US.
[20:05] <futureweasley> joy snuck in, too! HI!
[20:05] <nympheart> I'm tired today, I've been getting ready for my party tomorrow
[20:05] <futureweasley> you are having a party?!
[20:06] <futureweasley> (party)
[20:06] <Joyhawk2121> Hi, Future
[20:06] <nympheart> grad party
[20:06] <MrMcGonagall> Remember, it's your party, and you can cry if you want to.
[20:06] <futureweasley> rock on!
[20:06] <futureweasley> LOL MrMcG!
[20:06] <nympheart> ha! yeah right
[20:06] <bookworm1102> lol mr. mcg
[20:06] <SoonerGryffindor> or if you are Myrtle......
[20:06] <futureweasley> congratulations!
[20:06] * MrMcGonagall is trying to get future singing
[20:06] <SoonerGryffindor> you cry all the time and it doesnt matter
[20:06] <nympheart> thanks
[20:06] * futureweasley sings, "It's My Toilet and I'll cry if I want to"
[20:06] <bookworm1102> aww graduation i remeber that
[20:06] <SoonerGryffindor> It's my toilet and I'll cry if I want to........."
[20:06] <bookworm1102> lol
[20:07] <nympheart> I've gone to the same school since preschool, and 14 years is a really long time, it's time to go
[20:07] <futureweasley> it was exactly 10 years ago for me!! *wails like Myrtle*
[20:07] <bookworm1102> 2 years for me
[20:07] * SoonerGryffindor glares at everyone who is so young
[20:07] <bookworm1102> now im a poor college student
[20:07] <futureweasley> lol, I know that all too well, too, bookworm!
[20:07] <nympheart> i'll join you in a month and a half, bookworm
[20:08] <MrMcGonagall> I graduated from high school 16 years ago.
[20:08] <futureweasley> *coughGeezercough*
[20:08] <SoonerGryffindor> hmmm, let's just say that if someone was born the day I graduated from high school, they could legally walk into a bar and order a drink. How sad is that?
[20:08] * futureweasley winks at MrMcGonagall
[20:08] <MrMcGonagall> Not that sad, Sooner.
[20:08] <bookworm1102> then you probably wont like me sooner smile
[20:08] <SoonerGryffindor> lol
[20:09] <MrMcGonagall> But I graduated from high school a year early, so it isn't quite as bad as it sounds.
[20:09] * SoonerGryffindor sits next to Mr M in the old geezer corner
[20:09] <nympheart> lol
[20:09] <bookworm1102> aww your not old
[20:09] <futureweasley> I'm a geezer too...I just try to act my shoe size...not my age
[20:09] <SoonerGryffindor> pfft
[20:09] <SoonerGryffindor> are we ready to start?
[20:09] <MrMcGonagall> Woot!
[20:10] <bookworm1102> lets
[20:10] <nympheart> yup
[20:10] <SoonerGryffindor> does anyone need a recap of the rules?
[20:10] <Joyhawk2121> yes
[20:10] <futureweasley> yeppers
[20:10] <nympheart> rules? we have rules?
[20:10] <Joyhawk2121> not me
[20:10] <bookworm1102> this is new
[20:10] <bookworm1102> smile.gif
[20:10] <SoonerGryffindor> lol. You guys are funny
[20:11] <futureweasley> if you are bad, we'll kick you
[20:11] <futureweasley> those are the rules as they apply today
[20:11] <SoonerGryffindor> shhh, they might like that
[20:11] <bookworm1102> so is that the rule
[20:11] <Joyhawk2121> lol
[20:11] <futureweasley> There was some exciting news in the Potter world over this past week – WOMBAT results, a movie premiere, more sneak peeks at the film, and a few other interesting tidbits. Let’s review this past week in Potter News!

[20:11] <futureweasley> Owl post delivered our WOMBAT results! Did you do better or worse than you expected?

[20:11] <SoonerGryffindor> I totally did better than I expected
[20:11] <nympheart> I scored where I thought I would
[20:11] <futureweasley> me too Sooner!
[20:11] <bookworm1102> didnt take them so i wouldnt know
[20:11] <MrMcGonagall> Well, I thought I might have scraped an O, but I'm pleased with my EE.
[20:12] <futureweasley> bookworm, you didn't take them?!
[20:12] <futureweasley> why not?!
[20:12] <Joyhawk2121> I misplaced my code
[20:12] <SoonerGryffindor> me, future, and Mr M all made the same grade
[20:12] <futureweasley> I'm pleased with my EE as well
[20:12] <bookworm1102> i was late to the whole wombat thing
[20:12] <nympheart> that's not fun, joy
[20:12] <SoonerGryffindor> oh that stinks because they are so much fun
[20:12] <Joyhawk2121> I know
[20:12] * futureweasley , Sooner and MrMcG evidently share a brain between the three of us
[20:12] <SoonerGryffindor> lol
[20:12] <nympheart> The time that counts, I got an A
[20:12] <MrMcGonagall> It would be nice if the door was open longer, but I guess people would cheat.
[20:12] <bookworm1102> i didnt hear about them till part 3
[20:12] <SoonerGryffindor> and those were the results from when we did not cheat
[20:13] <futureweasley> well, I got an A on grade 2
[20:13] <MrMcGonagall> The Corner Booth mods took the test as a group, and together we rated an O.
[20:13] <nympheart> I was amused by the troll letter
[20:13] <futureweasley> and was Hermione-sized devastated
[20:13] <MrMcGonagall> I had EEs every time.
[20:14] <MrMcGonagall> Ah, the elusive O...
[20:14] <nympheart> I didn't take the first and got an E on the second
[20:14] <futureweasley> lol
[20:14] <SoonerGryffindor> we did get an O as a group
[20:14] <SoonerGryffindor> that was pretty cool

[20:14] <futureweasley> Were you disappointed that we didn’t get any book tidbits as a reward for completing our exams? Were you expecting something?

[20:14] <MrMcGonagall> I would have liked something more than a congrats, but deep down I didn't expect any book tidbits.
[20:14] <SoonerGryffindor> Sadly, I was disappointed. Poor Jo. She gives us wombats and we still complain
[20:14] <bookworm1102> i probably would have if i took them
[20:15] <nympheart> the exams are interestng in themselves, so I'm not that disappointed
[20:15] <MrMcGonagall> I agree, nymph
[20:15] <SoonerGryffindor> I just wanted more news to talk about and more last-minute theory stuff
[20:15] *** etnutter has joined #lounge
[20:15] <MrMcGonagall> Hi, etnutter!
[20:15] <futureweasley> hi etnutter
[20:15] <Joyhawk2121> Hi, enutter
[20:15] <etnutter> I made it tonight!
[20:15] <bookworm1102> hi
[20:15] <nympheart> hi etnutter
[20:15] <futureweasley> I was thinking we would get some chapter titles
[20:15] <futureweasley> but, I can't say that I'm disappointed we didn't...
[20:15] <etnutter> Last night I was seconds too late..............I confess myself....Dissapointed!
[20:15] <nympheart> we might still, future, don't give up yet
[20:16] <futureweasley> I now have one less thing to obsess about
[20:16] <bookworm1102> did they even drop clues?
[20:16] <MrMcGonagall> Well, that's what I'm wondering...
[20:16] <SoonerGryffindor> nothing
[20:16] <bookworm1102> Zero??
[20:16] <MrMcGonagall> I'm really thinking there may be hints in the exam itself.
[20:16] <SoonerGryffindor> that;s what I am thinking
[20:16] <nympheart> nope, they just said "good job"
[20:16] <futureweasley> yes MrMcG...I am with you
[20:16] <bookworm1102> you would think mr mcg
[20:16] <futureweasley> I'm also wondering about the "wizarding job applications"
[20:16] <etnutter> I think so too about clues in the wombat....esp re founders
[20:17] <SoonerGryffindor> I think the last 2 wombats especially have contained clues
[20:17] <MrMcGonagall> There's NO way I'm applying to the Ministry for ajob.
[20:17] <bookworm1102> i would think that it would be her way to drop some clues
[20:17] <futureweasley> that was just a bit too bizarre to me that Jo would refer to that in every Wombat result...regardless of your grade
[20:17] <nympheart> the international stuff seems relevant to DH especially
[20:17] <etnutter> I would like to be an unspeakable....

[20:18] <futureweasley> Have you looked at any of the new movie clips or cast interviews that have emerged in the media? What did you think?

[20:18] <etnutter> If Harry lives, I would rather see him as seeker for the Irish team rather than an Auror
[20:18] <nympheart> I haven't looked at them
[20:18] <bookworm1102> ive looked at some of them
[20:18] <MrMcGonagall> I've missed the new clips. I really don't want to see them before the movie.
[20:18] <Joyhawk2121> I watched the clips and thought they were really cool
[20:18] * MrMcGonagall conceals his laziness.
[20:18] <SoonerGryffindor> I have not looked yet
[20:18] <bookworm1102> i watched the interviews
[20:18] <SoonerGryffindor> lol Mr M
[20:18] <MrMcGonagall> Yet once again, I am embarrassed to be a moderator for the film forum at Leaky.
[20:19] <MrMcGonagall> I have read some of the print interviews that have come out lately.
[20:19] <nympheart> aww, we like you anyway MrM
[20:19] <etnutter> I know trailers and such are an art in themselves but I don't want them to give too much away so I avoid. I think interviews with secondary characters are a bit of hype unless you love that character
[20:19] <SoonerGryffindor> you dont have to see them to mod the forum
[20:19] <futureweasley> If Harry lives, I want him to be a stay at home dad...running a private "at-home dark magic home security" company. I'm a dork...please don't remind me
[20:19] <SoonerGryffindor> ok, wont remind you
[20:19] <MrMcGonagall> LOL. That's hilarious future.
[20:20] <bookworm1102> i've noticed that rupert grint doesnt really say anything eecpt for one word answers
[20:20] <nympheart> lol, that's not too bad of an idea, future
[20:20] <nympheart> then he's not tied to the ministry and gets to avoid attention
[20:20] <SoonerGryffindor> I am to the point where I just want the darned movie
[20:20] <etnutter> Seems to me that movie wise the cameral LOVES Emma Watson a but too much...what do you think?
[20:21] <futureweasley> I think I, myself, might love Emma Watson too much
[20:21] <SoonerGryffindor> I dunno. I will let you know after I see it
[20:21] <futureweasley> but, I love Hermione...so I guess that sort of makes sense
[20:21] <bookworm1102> agreed
[20:21] <SoonerGryffindor> meh, she's okay

[20:21] <futureweasley> The London Times officially reviewed the new OotP film, giving it 3 out of 5 stars. It had praise for Imelda Staunton’s portrayal of Umbridge. Were you nervous about how well she’d do in the role?

[20:21] <etnutter> Keep watching reruns of GoF on Cable - it is like hermione and the goblet of fire to me...
[20:22] <futureweasley> I was so EXCITED about this review.
[20:22] *** cbm has joined #lounge
[20:22] <SoonerGryffindor> Hey cbm!
[20:22] <futureweasley> this, to me, said that canon fans might have a chance at loving this movie
[20:22] <nympheart> honestly, I think the movies have gotten worse as time has gone on, so I've completely given up caring what happens
[20:22] <nympheart> hi cbm
[20:22] <bookworm1102> from what ive seen she is umbridge
[20:22] <futureweasley> hi cbm
[20:22] <etnutter> I am sure Imelda will do a great job but will she be my Umbridge?......no....
[20:22] <SoonerGryffindor> Um, I was okay with this review because honestly I dont care what the reviewer thinks
[20:22] <Joyhawk2121> I was not nervous. I thought she was a good choice for the part.
[20:22] <cbm> hi
[20:22] <bookworm1102> hi cbm
[20:22] <SoonerGryffindor> I've never doubted Imelda
[20:23] <SoonerGryffindor> what I doubt most is the director/screenplay
[20:23] <etnutter> Hello cbm, I am etnutter....very pleased tomeet you!
[20:23] <SoonerGryffindor> those are the thiings that scare me
[20:23] <futureweasley> I think, from everything that everyone's said...David Yates did the job he set out to do...stay consistant with the written work
[20:23] <bookworm1102> i usually dont listen to film critics though
[20:23] <cbm> my umbridge is a short toad
[20:23] <futureweasley> and, to me, no matter what the finished product is, it will be my favorite movie
[20:23] <MrMcGonagall> I knew she wouldn't have any trouble with the acting.
[20:23] <futureweasley> for the reason that the director consciously tried to stick with the STORY
[20:23] <etnutter> The first review seemed to tank the effort overall, no? But then again I suspect it was a non-fan reviewer....what is the lowdown on the author?
[20:23] <MrMcGonagall> I think she's going to be an amazing Umbridge.
[20:24] <bookworm1102> agreed
[20:24] <futureweasley> Imelda rocks my socks
[20:24] <MrMcGonagall> Not quite the physical look from the book, but that would hard to achieve.
[20:24] <MrMcGonagall> I do tend to read between the lines of film reviews.
[20:24] <SoonerGryffindor> IMO, nothing can be worse than the GoF movie, so we can only go uphill from there
[20:24] <etnutter> I imagined the old lady from throw momma from the train....
[20:24] <MrMcGonagall> True, Sooner.
[20:24] <futureweasley> OMG etnutter! LOL
[20:24] <bookworm1102> you guys didnt likeGOF?
[20:24] <nympheart> I keep being afraid that I'll be surprised on that one, sooner
[20:24] <futureweasley> Estelle Getty
[20:24] <Joyhawk2121> True, Sooner
[20:24] <nympheart> I hated GoF
[20:24] <SoonerGryffindor> hated GoF
[20:25] <futureweasley> she's hilarious
[20:25] <nympheart> it was my favorite of the books, but I hated that movie
[20:25] <futureweasley> nonono
[20:25] <Joyhawk2121> I was very disappointed with GOP
[20:25] <futureweasley> nevermind...that's "Stop or my Mom will shoot"
[20:25] <SoonerGryffindor> I swear she;s a soccer mom on an opposing team we play all of the time
[20:25] <etnutter> I liked a LOT of GoF....but the problem directors have now is squeezing in a coherent story in just over 2 hrs
[20:25] * futureweasley is in her own world
[20:25] <SoonerGryffindor> its my least fave book and movie
[20:25] <etnutter> You get whiplash from teh world cup to the arrival at school to the tasks, adn then the graveyard....my neck aches just thinking about it

[20:26] <futureweasley> The Times also had some criticism for the trio, saying that while their acting had improved, it still lacked the emotional depth and nuance necessary for a story as complex as OotP. Does this worry you?

[20:26] <bookworm1102> I liked the book until order of the phoniex came out
[20:26] <MrMcGonagall> Well, I'm glad progress has been made, anyway.
[20:26] <cbm> no
[20:26] <futureweasley> I don't think I'm worried
[20:26] * nympheart tries to remain apathetic
[20:26] <SoonerGryffindor> I am not worried
[20:26] <MrMcGonagall> I'm not terribly worried, either.
[20:26] <bookworm1102> im not worried
[20:26] <Joyhawk2121> I am not worried
[20:26] <futureweasley> I take the movies for what they are
[20:26] <MrMcGonagall> I would be more upset if different actors were playing the role at this point.
[20:26] <etnutter> NO, there is NO trio of actors today who could pull off what needs to be achieved to contain these books in a single movie....it is like every lame attempt at War and Peace...
[20:26] <SoonerGryffindor> I have heard tons of people say that Dan is amazing in this, so that's what I remember
[20:27] <futureweasley> me too MrMcG...good point
[20:27] <bookworm1102> again I dont listen to the critics half the time
[20:27] <Joyhawk2121> I agree MrMcG
[20:27] <MrMcGonagall> I usually like to judge acting for myself.
[20:27] <SoonerGryffindor> I think the critic might not understand the books
[20:27] <etnutter> I really like this trio too.....
[20:27] <bookworm1102> agreed mr mcg
[20:27] <futureweasley> I've heard David Yates say that he pushed the actors and that they rose to the occasion
[20:27] <bookworm1102> i agree sooner
[20:27] <futureweasley> and, that, I will take to the bank
[20:27] <MrMcGonagall> Me too, future.
[20:28] <etnutter> I second Bookworm, sooner
[20:28] <nympheart> would he honestly say that they were terrible?
[20:28] <bookworm1102> yates had to have done a good jo otherwise he would not be directing HBP
[20:28] <MrMcGonagall> A lot of it came from the actors themselves.
[20:28] <etnutter> like in baseball, he would say something different, but not derogatory...

[20:28] <futureweasley> The OotP film had its world premiere in Tokyo, which Dan Radcliffe and David Heyman attended. What do you think of this choice of venue?

[20:28] <bookworm1102> *job
[20:29] <futureweasley> that was weird
[20:29] <SoonerGryffindor> LOL
[20:29] <futureweasley> sorry...let me try again
[20:29] <futureweasley> The OotP film had its world premiere in Tokyo, which Dan Radcliffe and David Heyman attended. What do you think of this choice of venue?
[20:29] <futureweasley> there
[20:29] <MrMcGonagall> I was a bit surprised at a Tokyo film release.
[20:29] <nympheart> that's interesting
[20:29] <SoonerGryffindor> I think its nice. There is a nice Asian fan base
[20:29] <etnutter> I love the covers, but will stick with my dogeared, self annotated stickynote ridden versions...
[20:29] <Joyhawk2121> that was weird
[20:30] <MrMcGonagall> I know HP has a lot of Japanese fans, but it still struck me as odd.
[20:30] <bookworm1102> I think its somewher diffrent they are just trying to reach a diffrent part of their audenice
[20:30] <etnutter> Have they given a reason for tokyo?
[20:30] <MrMcGonagall> Not that I know of, etnutter.
[20:30] <SoonerGryffindor> no idea
[20:30] <nympheart> I think you're right, bookworm
[20:30] <SoonerGryffindor> I agree with bookworm also
[20:30] <cbm> they are trying to pump up sales in asia
[20:30] <etnutter> That is what would be interesting .... to know WHY they did that location...otherwise I am fine with it.
[20:30] <futureweasley> right, as if the movies aren't popular enough worldwide
[20:30] <SoonerGryffindor> makes it more international, I guess
[20:31] <futureweasley> they need to "target" some place
[20:31] <etnutter> Is anyone having a movie party?
[20:31] <bookworm1102> nope
[20:31] <futureweasley> I am
[20:31] <MrMcGonagall> I haven't made any plans for the movie yet.
[20:31] <nympheart> I never go when it opens up, I tried that for SS and it was pretty bad
[20:31] <etnutter> We are having people over from work for croquet and then head for the matinee
[20:32] <SoonerGryffindor> I think I am going to wait till the 13th to go see t
[20:32] <futureweasley> that sounds fun!
[20:32] <bookworm1102> me too sooner
[20:32] <MrMcGonagall> Yes, I never really like the opening night frenzy, Sooner.
[20:32] <etnutter> I am looking forward to the opening week energy of all the kids at the line outside the theatres
[20:32] <futureweasley> the guy I'm seeing bought tickets to a fundraiser...we get to see it at 8 the day before it comes out
[20:32] <MrMcGonagall> Cool, future!
[20:32] <SoonerGryffindor> plus the 11th is my daughter's bday. I want that day to be all about her
[20:32] <bookworm1102> there will still be long lines though
[20:33] <cbm> I may be in NY on the 13th, I may wait and see it on imax
[20:33] <etnutter> superb judgement sooner
[20:33] <futureweasley> they were EXPENSIVE...but, I'm glad he did it...I don't have to worry about the midnight crazies
[20:33] <futureweasley> lol
[20:33] * MrMcGonagall wonders if there's room in future's Kermit the Frog handbag to sneak him inside the theater.
[20:33] <futureweasley> I, of course, would have been the craziest one there...but that's another story
[20:33] <SoonerGryffindor> so I am going to end up and watch it on the original day it was going to come out anyways
[20:33] <futureweasley> there's always room in the Muppet's purse for you, MrMcG!
[20:34] <bookworm1102> me too sooner

[20:34] <futureweasley> Bloomsbury announced that a boxed set of the British edition Harry Potter series will be available October 1. Would you want to buy it, or do you already own them?

[20:34] <SoonerGryffindor> and then me, Mr M, and future will get with the rest of the WeasleyCasters and do a moviecast on it
[20:34] <futureweasley> ooh, that's a good idea, Sooner!
[20:34] <etnutter> I own both hardcovers and softcovers....I relish the softcovers and they are duly abused with love
[20:34] <bookworm1102> i think that I will stick to the books I already have
[20:34] <MrMcGonagall> Yes, I'm planning on sending some money to JaneMarple9 to buy it for me and send it over from the UK.
[20:34] <nympheart> I would like a boxed set, but I probably won't get it then
[20:35] <SoonerGryffindor> thanks to a good friend of mine who I moderate with here, I now have the first 4 books in a boxed set
[20:35] *** potterfreak07 has joined #lounge
[20:35] <nympheart> I want the UK version
[20:35] <futureweasley> I want the quidditch case
[20:35] <etnutter> I printed up all of the cover posters from scholastic....I hope to make a framed collage for my office
[20:35] <futureweasley> hi potterfreak
[20:35] <nympheart> hi potterfreak
[20:35] <SoonerGryffindor> hi potterfreak
[20:35] <potterfreak07> hello
[20:35] <MrMcGonagall> That's a cool idea, etnutter.
[20:35] <Joyhawk2121> Hi, Potterfreak
[20:35] <bookworm1102> hi potterfreak
[20:35] <etnutter> thx
[20:35] <MrMcGonagall> I do really want the British editions.
[20:35] <etnutter> how come? McG
[20:35] <SoonerGryffindor> that is an excellent idea
[20:35] <futureweasley> yes, post pictures of it in the craft area on leaky, and if you are willing to make more, I bet people will contact you about purchasing them!
[20:35] <MrMcGonagall> I have the US editions in hardcover and paperback.
[20:35] <futureweasley> (I know I would!)
[20:36] <MrMcGonagall> Especially with the early novels, I'd really like to hear the differences in language.
[20:36] <bookworm1102> thats interesting

[20:36] <futureweasley> Via her website, J.K. Rowling has lent her support to the campaign to find the missing child Madeleine McCann. Have you been following this story, and what do you think of Jo’s decision to voice her support? Will it help the search?

[20:36] <MrMcGonagall> I lovce Britishisms.
[20:36] <SoonerGryffindor> it is cool Mr M. Jane sent me books 1-4 and I am having a blast reading them
[20:36] <etnutter> I see....I am interested in the british audiobooks for that reason, too.
[20:36] <cbm> I have the uk audio books
[20:37] <MrMcGonagall> This is one of the things I love about Jo.
[20:37] <bookworm1102> i thought they already found her?
[20:37] <futureweasley> I love the British Audiobooks (special thanks to cbm for the introduction)
[20:37] <nympheart> Jo didn't surprise me at all on that one
[20:37] <SoonerGryffindor> I am all for anything that helps return a child to her parents
[20:37] <futureweasley> there have been arrests
[20:37] <futureweasley> I saw it on Yahoo! News this morning
[20:37] <etnutter> I think Jo's support can only help, but I feel very futile from over here about that terrible story...
[20:37] <bookworm1102> it kinda sounds like somthing she would do
[20:37] <MrMcGonagall> nothing like mobilizing the Potter fans. We're a force to be reckoned with. Watch out, bad guys!!
[20:38] <bookworm1102> lol
[20:38] <MrMcGonagall> Jo's Army.
[20:38] <bookworm1102> the JA
[20:38] <SoonerGryffindor> lol
[20:38] <etnutter> there you go....that would be a GREAT tee shirt slogan
[20:38] <futureweasley> right, the whole world is interested in what Jo's got to say at this juncture...why not get vocal about something as serious as this?
[20:38] <Joyhawk2121> yes, it would
[20:38] <MrMcGonagall> I wish out numchucks emoticon worked in here.
[20:38] <futureweasley> bruce.gif
[20:38] <futureweasley> nope
[20:38] <futureweasley> darn
[20:38] <futureweasley> I love bruce.gif
[20:38] <SoonerGryffindor> hmm, I thought Nick was fixing that
[20:38] <etnutter> I bet she would react the same way Dumbledore did when he heard the name DA
[20:39] <SoonerGryffindor> I bet she would
[20:39] * futureweasley adds yet another thing to Nick's "to-do" list

[20:39] <futureweasley> Scholastic, the American publisher of HP, announced a huge release night block party at their headquarters in New York City. Does this sound like a cool idea? Are you able to go?

[20:40] <MrMcGonagall> I can't go, but I thought it was a neat idea.
[20:40] <SoonerGryffindor> yes its a cool idea, no OK is too far away from NYC
[20:40] <futureweasley> I would LOVE to go to this...but I worry so much about Spoilers
[20:40] <nympheart> I don't think I'd go if I could, I just want to read the book
[20:40] <bookworm1102> yea like i can afford to go to NY again but i would love to go smile
[20:40] <MrMcGonagall> good point future... avoid large gatherings.
[20:40] <futureweasley> Spoilers blow...and the climate there in NYC would be a prime hotbed for them
[20:40] <etnutter> Able to go as I am here on the coast...but not my venue.....we are going to the local kid's storytime bookstore here in CT.
[20:40] <SoonerGryffindor> I am almost embarassed to mention my amazingly boring plans for the night of the 20th
[20:41] <bookworm1102> thats why there are no release partys for me future
[20:41] <futureweasley> I have the opportunity to go to Chicago with the PotterCasters...I have had to turn it down...I'm paralyzed with fear about being Spoiled
[20:41] <nympheart> what are your boring plans, Sooner?
[20:41] <etnutter> that is another great point Future...
[20:41] <MrMcGonagall> There are a lot of amazing events during the day that Scholastic will be doing at the block party.
[20:41] *** potterfreak07 has quit [Ping timeout]
[20:41] <futureweasley> like, seriously...my MOM is going out to buy the book for me
[20:41] <MrMcGonagall> I don't think it's too adult-oriented, though.
[20:41] <bookworm1102> see im not listening to potter cast or visting leaky until im done reading
[20:41] <futureweasley> hahaha
[20:41] <SoonerGryffindor> run to wal-mart at 11:45. Buy the book and drive home as fast as I can and start reading
[20:42] <MrMcGonagall> That's more or less my plan, Sooner.
[20:42] <MrMcGonagall> LOL
[20:42] <nympheart> yeah, that's mine
[20:42] <cbm> hat is my plan sooner LOL
[20:42] <futureweasley> obey the speed limit...you two!
[20:42] <SoonerGryffindor> lol
[20:42] <futureweasley> or all of you!
[20:42] <SoonerGryffindor> I can see the headlines now
[20:42] <MrMcGonagall> I'll probably be driving with someone else.
[20:42] <futureweasley> I'll be calling my mom saying "Where is my book?!"
[20:42] <etnutter> My son took the challenge to finish Sorc Stone....if he finishes we go together ....he is jsut done 1st grade...
[20:42] <MrMcGonagall> I am attending an all-night reading party, but these are people I cant rust.
[20:42] <MrMcGonagall> can trust

[20:42] <futureweasley> Scholastic’s purple traveling Knight Bus will also be making its last stop at headquarters in preparation for the block party. Has the Knight Bus been to your area? Did you go?

[20:42] <bookworm1102> mass car carsh to get last HP book
[20:43] <futureweasley> lol bookworm
[20:43] <futureweasley> exactly
[20:43] <nympheart> Pittsburgh has been pretty boring
[20:43] <cbm> I was out of towm when it was in my neighborhood
[20:43] <bookworm1102> it totally missed the dallas area
[20:43] <MrMcGonagall> I have no idea what it's itinerary was.
[20:43] <MrMcGonagall> It's going to be all I can do to make it to the live PotterCast in Wichita on the 18th.
[20:44] <bookworm1102> basically oklahoma and Texas were not on there
[20:44] <SoonerGryffindor> we saw a pseudo Knight bus, does that count?
[20:44] <futureweasley> ooh, are you doing that, MrMcG?!
[20:44] <MrMcGonagall> True. There's a pseudo-Knight Bus in Tulsa.
[20:44] <MrMcGonagall> I'm hoping to get there, future.
[20:44] <SoonerGryffindor> and we even took pictures with it
[20:44] <futureweasley> honestly...how could 5 devoted Potter fans drive by a Purple bus and NOT get their picture taken?!
[20:44] <SoonerGryffindor> LOLOLOLOLOL
[20:45] <MrMcGonagall> We nearly caused an accident veering off the road when we saw the Bus.
[20:45] <SoonerGryffindor> we did
[20:45] <futureweasley> guys, seriously...there was squeeing and all sorts of shinanagans commensing
[20:45] <bookworm1102> lol
[20:45] <nympheart> nicely done
[20:45] <SoonerGryffindor> people thought we were nuts
[20:45] <futureweasley> I thought we were nuts
[20:45] <nympheart> they thought right
[20:45] <MrMcGonagall> It was in the parking lot of a bowling alley.
[20:45] <Joyhawk2121> LOL
[20:45] <bookworm1102> yea but we are all a little crazy smile
[20:45] <SoonerGryffindor> ah, good times, good times
[20:46] <futureweasley> actually, MrMcG showed us where all the horcruxes were in Tulsa
[20:46] <futureweasley> AND, he took us to lunch at the Leaky Cauldron
[20:46] <nympheart> lol
[20:46] <SoonerGryffindor> that he did
[20:46] <MrMcGonagall> Yes, the last time I checked, the Mona Lisa horcrux was still in the gelato shop.
[20:46] <bookworm1102> lol

[20:46] <futureweasley> Scholastic published the results of their HP poll. In answer to their question, “Who do you think will end up with whom?” 56% of respondents believed Harry will still end up with Hermione. In light of Jo’s own comments, why do you think readers who favor a Harry/Hermione relationship are so persistent?

[20:46] <nympheart> are you kidding me?
[20:47] <SoonerGryffindor> this is why I stopped visiting the scholastic site
[20:47] <bookworm1102> probably b/c of the movies
[20:47] <nympheart> isn't there a word for this...starts with a "d"?
[20:47] <cbm> Because everone of the remaining harmonions went to the site
[20:47] <futureweasley> DELUSIONAL
[20:47] <MrMcGonagall> There is, nymph.
[20:47] <futureweasley> DELUSIONAL
[20:47] <SoonerGryffindor> I seriously think that scholastic has no clue who their fan base is
[20:47] <futureweasley> wow, a double post
[20:47] <futureweasley> cool
[20:48] <MrMcGonagall> I agree, Sooner.
[20:48] <bookworm1102> i think they got idea though from the movies i really do
[20:48] <MrMcGonagall> I agree, bookworm.
[20:48] <SoonerGryffindor> I want to send them a scathing email stating that there are tons more ADULT fans than kid fans
[20:48] <futureweasley> I hate that this is even "news-worthy"...what the heck? I mean, no disrespect to Harmionions (Harry/Hermione shippers)...but it's CANON. It ain't happening!
[20:48] <SoonerGryffindor> amen future
[20:48] <MrMcGonagall> Hear, hear.
[20:49] <bookworm1102> i like it as a never going to happen couple
[20:49] <cbm> It does not surprise me, the remainin harmonians are a dedicated bunch
[20:49] <SoonerGryffindor> I truly wonder at who in the world is doing this voting
[20:49] <MrMcGonagall> Me too, Sooner.
[20:49] <cbm> It is not that many votes
[20:49] <bookworm1102> people who dont pay atteion to the book sooner
[20:49] <futureweasley> well, it's just dumb. That's my final word on the subject
[20:50] <etnutter> first time readers curious about what it is all about....

[20:50] <SoonerGryffindor> Only 10 minutes left, everyone! This has been a great chat! I want to remind you all that this transcript can be found at the Corner Booth Forum http://www.leakylounge.com/index.php?showforum=184

[20:50] <nympheart> future has spoken
[20:50] <futureweasley> lol nymph

[20:50] <futureweasley> Only 19% of respondents thought that Harry would wind up with Ginny. Given the canon, does this number seem shockingly low? Why do you think that is?

[20:50] * nympheart chokes
[20:50] <SoonerGryffindor> the number seems shockingly stupid is what it seems
[20:50] <futureweasley> [21:50] <futureweasley> well, it's just dumb. That's my final word on the subject
[20:50] <cbm> not with all of the harmonians voting
[20:50] <etnutter> Because they think he dies?
[20:50] * SoonerGryffindor agrees with cbm
[20:51] <etnutter> you cant end up with anyone if you die...
[20:51] <SoonerGryffindor> nononononononon
[20:51] <futureweasley> *le sigh*
[20:51] <bookworm1102> yes because they see all the hermione / harry chemestry , but dont see what they want to see
[20:51] * SoonerGryffindor puts her fingers in her ears and starts humming
[20:51] <MrMcGonagall> I'm with you, etnutte.
[20:52] <bookworm1102> etnutte ,noooooooo
[20:52] <etnutter> thx again Mr. McG....and shipwise....why are you Mr. McG and what weasely is in your sights for the future, future?
[20:52] <cbm> there is no h/Hr chemistry, the is H/Hr/Ron chemistry
[20:52] <SoonerGryffindor> she cant have Charlie. I called dibs
[20:53] <nympheart> I want George!
[20:53] <bookworm1102> no ihave dibssmile
[20:53] <MrMcGonagall> I just picked my name because I like the character of McGonagall. She's way too old for me, though.
[20:53] <bookworm1102> on charlie
[20:53] <MrMcGonagall> No ship there.
[20:53] <etnutter> Up through book 3, I thought there was tons of Herm/harry chemistry....especially via the time sequence.
[20:53] <futureweasley> urm
[20:53] <SoonerGryffindor> future is in love with Won-won
[20:53] <futureweasley> does saying "all of the above" make me look like a scarlett woman?
[20:53] <nympheart> lol
[20:53] <bookworm1102> lol
[20:53] <etnutter> hope so!
[20:53] <cbm> but the H/Hr folks ignored everything after book 3
[20:54] <SoonerGryffindor> pretty much cbm
[20:54] <futureweasley> sooner's right....this future is in love with won-won
[20:54] <bookworm1102> they see what they want to see
[20:54] <etnutter> true cbm.....it was clear by the yule ball... one of my favorite chptrs.
[20:54] <cbm> I think it was clear by the 1st task when Harry was missing ron
[20:55] <SoonerGryffindor> I knew whenever when Ron made Hermione cry in SS
[20:55] <etnutter> I kind of got the curiousity for Bellatrix....
[20:55] <bookworm1102> i had a feeling in Chamber of secrets
[20:55] <nympheart> I didn't really think in those terms when I read those books
[20:55] <MrMcGonagall> Yes, the bickering between Ron and Hermy was a givaway.

[20:55] <futureweasley> Breaking news: Bloomsbury just released a sound clip of Stephen Frye "pimping" his new Audiobook for Deathly Hallows. He says at the end..."Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus". With the deluxe edition cover art we've seen...how are dragons coming to the forefront shifting your opinion of what we'll see in DH?

[20:56] <cbm> I did not really care, so did not give it much thought
[20:56] <SoonerGryffindor> ZOMG!
[20:56] <SoonerGryffindor> this sound clip is amazing
[20:56] <futureweasley> right, I was with Sooner on this one
[20:56] <futureweasley> I started freaking out
[20:56] <cbm> Is the dragon on the cover an animagus
[20:56] <bookworm1102> this is the first time im hearing about it
[20:56] <futureweasley> I don't think so
[20:57] <bookworm1102> the sound clip
[20:57] <futureweasley> do you want the sound link, bookworm?
[20:57] <nympheart> no answers cbm
[20:57] <SoonerGryffindor> no idea cbm, but I think the "hint" that Frye gves is is cool
