Harry Potter discussion forum for movies, books, and more! - The Leaky Lounge _ Memories of the HP Experience: The Pensieve Parlor _ The Ultimate HP Memorabilia Poll

Posted by: Gryffoenix Oct 22 2006, 01:32 PM

Since we're going back up to Pennsylvania (My home state) to visit family for Christmas, (I live in Texas), my mom wants all of our Christmas lists in advance so she can have them shipped upstate. Believe it or not, all of the items I want are all HP related! Here's my list:

-The Harry Potter Audiobooks on CD-
(You can find these on Ebay for Cheap! I'm hoping to get all six, but I want HBP and GOF the most.)

-Unauthorized HP Book 7 News-
(It's a paperback book analysis on Amazon. I am a spoiler WHORE. I hate to be, but I can't resist spoilers. I have to stay off the internet the week book 7 actually comes out.)

-Harry Potter 1-6 Hardcover Box Set-
(I have them all in paperback, but I would really like a nice set of hardcovers.)

That's all she wrote! (Pardon the pun.) My parents are on a budget this Christmas, so I can't ask for much more. But this will tide me over for a long time! smile.gif

What's on your list?

Posted by: aerishkigal Oct 23 2006, 10:10 AM

I have all the American and British paperbacks, and HBP in hardcover, but I do think that I would appreciate the rest in hardcovers for the holidays. They'll just look so much nicer in my little "library".

the Goblet of Fire poster book on my amazon wish list

Posted by: juigperez Oct 23 2006, 03:23 PM

I think i'll buy my own christmass present. That´s beacause i want the american Harry Potter 1-6 hardcover box set for my colection (i have the argentinian books and the british books) and they are so expensive here in Argentina :S

Posted by: questioning_about_a_pencieve Oct 24 2006, 02:57 PM

i would love a new set, the british hardcover versions would be cool, as my hardcover books are thrashed from so much use. also, i like the little collectors stuff, like i saw a hermione reading book buddy thing and i liked that. then there was a little statue thing of like harry and them that would be cool. then those watches and rings are cool, but all these things are really a bit pricey.

Harry Potter audio books on CD
Harry Potter audio books 3 through 6 on Cassette
My sewing machine fixed so I can make my McGonagall robes

Finally - the British Version Leatherbound Harry Potter Books! I was waiting for the British market to do a release of a well bound book. So I hope to get one to try out to see if I like it for Christmas. I might have to wait till book 7 is released, because they will sell complete sets of them as well. It will be several hundred pounds, but I don't mind. As long as it's the highest quality - to last years of readings.

I wouldn't mind a few more of the micro Harry Potter sets!

I would like a few Centaurs!

Another Gringotts Bank. Mine was accidently knocked, and broken into 20 pieces. I hope they come out with a better version of it, or I put it in a safer place.

I would like to have a good sweater with the Griffindor motif on it. Also a Grifindor wool scarf - if they made them.

I would like a good book end support for the whole Harry Potter series. I used my Hogwarts microset, and two Phiolosopher Stone sets(they look like part of Hogwarts castle on the outside) to make it book ends. IT looks great on my bookcase.

In the future - the HD/DVD of all the Harry Potter films, if they put a commentary of Mrs. J.K.Rowlings on them.

A set of all the soundtracks made in one edition - like they did for Lord of the Rings. Have John Williams put extra scores that were not used on it as a bonus perk.

Quite a bit of wishful thinking on my part. I will be happy to get a leatherbound British Version to start with.

Cheers,

Helyx wizard.gif

Oh, and though she is evil incarnate - a few dancing kitten plates! I have two cats who have requested them. I told them that the woman in the books is not a nice characer.

My kittens said, "well daddy, you are a nicer person!" I couldn't argue myself out of it.

But the Kittens have to be really dancing, and playing around in the plate! MEOW! hehehe......I keep teasing people that the Franklin Mint will do a Dolores Umbridge Dancing Kitten Colector Plate Series! Somehow, I don't think I might be that far off base....URGH!

I would like to get the Collector's Edition CoS. I've only seen it in one bookstore, but I've seen it for sale online. I already have the Collector's Edition SS so I'd like the next one to match it. I can't think of any other HP items that I want off the top of my head right now, but I'm sure I'll think of some by time Christmas gets here wink.gif Even if I don't think of anything specific, anything pertaining to HP will do. Wouldn't it be awesome to have a completely HP Christmas?? I'd love to get all HP gifts.... wizard.gif

Um...a JKR signed book please!!!

That is my goal! One day I will own an authentic, signed copy of an HP book (preferably PoA as it's my favorite but really any will do! LOL)

I have some friends who were lucky enough to buy the super pack of tickets for the NY reading event so they got a signed book. Any time I'm at their house I pick it up and gently open the cover to see the signature and sigh (I also think how easy it would be to forge my own copy of HBP and make a quick switch - yes I am evil at heart!)

"One day," I say, "one day."

I really want a license plate cover that is Harry related. I have been trying to decide what I want it to say, and these are some of the things I have come up with:

Dumbledore's man through and through!
I read it in Hogwarts, A History!
I'd rather be flying my Firebolt! (seen this before)

I don't know. I think I am leaning toward the Hogwarts, A History one. I like the idea of it being a bit obscure so that only a real fan would get it. Any suggestions?

Posted by: adamgryff Nov 4 2006, 11:04 PM

Besides a signed copy of any of the books by Jo. I would really like to find a first edition hardback of the SS, which is almost impossible to get.

So, I'm going to play it safe and ask for any kind of Harry Potter bookmarks and maybe the the PS, GOF and HBP in adult paperback. I have the other ones already. I would like to complete the set.

Almost forgot, the title of book seven. Come on Jo, if your listening, we want a title!

Posted by: Ginnyous Nov 13 2006, 11:22 PM

I'd love a Griffindor scarf, HP bumper sticker (so I can let other HP fans now that I'm an Hp superfan), the GoF ps3 game, and a weasley sweater.
one of these would be great, but all of these would make this my best Christmas ever thumbup.gif .

Posted by: taylor. Nov 13 2006, 11:27 PM

i want gof in hardback (someone stole it from me) and a hp hoodie pullover. a gryffindor one. oh and a gryffindor scarf. that would be pretty sweet to get.

Posted by: nympheart Nov 20 2006, 03:39 PM

I want the ModCast for Christmas. No, I'm not kidding. I don't want stuff, I want that. My English grade dropped from a 94 to an 89 in the weeks following its cancellation as time has gone on, I've missed it more. It was my favorite segment and I'm sorry but the Canon Conundrums is nowhere close to the same thing. As much as I like Melissa, John, and especially Sue, I loved hearing different voices. It broke up the show nicely and made it seem more professional. The ModCast was what really set PotterCast apart from MuggleCast.

Posted by: chocolate89 Nov 20 2006, 03:42 PM

i miss the modcast too nympheart.

i want my leaky and pottercasts shirts, which i would glady wear with pride.

Posted by: Fairest_Lily Nov 24 2006, 08:51 AM

I really want an S.P.E.W. hoodie, they're so cool!! And someone mentioned the title, that would be great!!!

Posted by: RobertK Nov 24 2006, 04:26 PM

I want the paperback boxed set...

And a Gryffindor tie and scarf.

That's about it, I think. Although a Gryffindor sweater would be spectacular as well, really all I want is the books and a scarf... *sigh*... at least I have LeakyFolk to talk to.

Posted by: devilssnare12 Nov 24 2006, 04:49 PM

I want book 7.

That's not going to happen sad.gif How about the title? *hope that Jo is reading and slips a note into my Christmas stocking! along with a satsuma because I've been a good girl this year and have been trying to deal with the fact that Sirius is dead*

Posted by: Lime613 Dec 1 2006, 05:20 AM

I would love a pair of gloves from any house and some HP candy, the title for book 7 would also be cool

Posted by: Obsolete Dingbat Dec 1 2006, 08:32 AM

Hm..I think I would like one of the audio books, the Stephen Fry ones. I have the Jim Dale version of GoF, but Stephen Fry just has the most wonderful voice.

Posted by: Emily Vizi Dec 4 2006, 05:17 PM

OotP Audiobook
Leaky/PotterCast Shirts
Harry and the Potters cds
The Remus Lupins cds

Thats all I want for christmas concerning HP. biggrin.gif

What you mean other than Book 7?! Come on Jo, can't we just have the title? We promise we won't tell....(fingers crossed behind our backs)

A PotterCast T-shirt!!

And Maybe Mugglecast's book "Book 7: Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Falls in Love, and How the Adventure Finally Ends..."

(*hint*hint* to the parentals, if they happen to spy this when I leave my laptop 'lying around'!!)

Posted by: SnitchWitch Dec 4 2006, 09:53 PM

I basically want what Gryffoenix wants, including the Mugglenet book. And the HP dvds, as they're going on moratorium. sad.gif

The Title for Book 7.

The first 2 movie soundtracks. (Already have POA and GOF)

Books 1-6 UK editions

Registration for Phoenix Rising in New Orleans, money for gas to get there and back, and spending money.

DVD set, a rope, a wand, Gryfindor scarf and any HP related like shirt, sweater, bags. Oh and i really want quills. To maintain my obsession tongue.gif(Why i never buy these things before?)

Posted by: lelabelle525 Dec 6 2006, 01:37 PM

Ooohh...I just want the complete set in hardback (my paperbacks are falling apart)

and I would love the title to book 7...that would probably make me the happiest!!

Posted by: Lily_Phoenix Dec 6 2006, 07:24 PM

S.P.E.W. sweatshirt and a TLC tee!.

Posted by: Pleshette Dec 6 2006, 09:31 PM

Well, I already bought what I wanted this year for Christmas...the soundtrack to POA. I've been trying to find it for a couple of years now. And since I don't shop off the internet too often, when I saw it a couple of weeks ago I snatched it up. I also love Hermione's time-turner but alas, I don't think I'll be getting that this year. By the way, can you tell what my favorite book and film are? lol.gif

Oh, and maybe a "I Solemnly Swear..." t-shirt!

Posted by: Dubes Dec 6 2006, 10:08 PM

WHY DOES ALIVANS NOT SELL RAVENCLAW ROBES?

Argh...

THAT, and THAT ONLY IS WHAT I WANT.

Oh, and I want to go to the Chipotle store with John in Toronto during Prophecy 07

Posted by: CryptMistress Dec 7 2006, 04:26 PM

Anything Slytherin, of course...what else? Hmmm...been hinting at the powers that be(namely, my father), for the replica of Lucius' walking stick...gah, I've got to have that! But, knowing my father, he'd get it for me, and then hit me with it...just for the sheer heck of it. darkmark.gif Oh yes, and another copy of the hardback edition of HBP...since my new puppy decided it looked delicious.

Posted by: Cuckoo4tofu Dec 7 2006, 05:15 PM

I want Voldemort's Wand and Hermione's Illuminating Wand for Christmas. I got Harry's Light-up Wand and the Hogwarts House-Crest bookmarks last year, and the year before that I got Hermione's Time-Turner (all from http://www.noblecollection.com). I would have asked for more Harry Potter collectibles this year, but I also asked for the Zune media player which was expensive, and for a replica of the Cursed Aztec Gold Coin Necklace from Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Next year I'm thinking about getting the Four Champions' Wands display set from The Noble Collection, although I'll have to be careful where I display it so my cats won't be able to knock it over. lol.gif

But what do I REALLY want...I WANT THE TITLE FOR BOOK 7!!! Wouldn't that be great if Jo revealed it Christmas day??!

Posted by: AccessDenied Jan 3 2007, 03:31 PM

I wanted the HP books on CD because I only have cassettes (bye-bye ancient technology) which I didn't get BUT I got something ALMOST as good! Lots of gift certificates to Borders and Amazon.com! I have already received the first four books on CD and all three of the Philip Pullman Dark Materials Books. These will keep me busy until my sister-in-law arrives from New Zealand next month. She's bringing me the British version by Stephen Fry. I should be tied up with all these until my birthday and then I can ask for the last two Jim Dale versions on CD.

BTW - I have that SPEW hoodie. Bought it the DAY it showed up on Leaky and I LOVE it. In addition to be HP it also happens to be a really good quality and very warm hoodie!

This year's main Christmas present was the complete HP audio collection, last year's was the US complete boxset......I wonder what complete HP set I can get next year conf.gif It's a pity that it'll be quite a while before any of us will be getting the complete DVD collection rolleyes.gif

I got two HP things for Christmas this year. I finally got my Gryffindor house scarf from the Noble Collection, from my Uncle. He also got me this print of http://www.wwagallery.com/images/HPG/HPGTEC.jpg by Mary Grand Pre biggrin.gif

A full-sized Firebolt. Preferably one that flies, but I'll settle for one that doesn't. rolleyes.gif

Posted by: BellatrixInPink Dec 29 2008, 09:54 PM

This year I got a replica Marauder's Map and a HP scarf for Christmas. Last year I got a few die cast figures, Harry, Ron, and Hermione's wands, a Sorting Hat, and a Time Turner. I'm dying for a broom but can't find any life-sized replicas of the brooms in the books.

Posted by: Deathly Hallower Dec 30 2008, 01:09 AM

I'd like a life-size Dobby statue. I saw one in the window of an HP shop in Italy (I'm so upset I didn't get to go in, but the people I was with were being bossy jerks, literally) and I've wanted one ever since. He's just so cute! elf.gif

OMG How did I miss those brooms??
Sooooo cool, but I doubt I'll be able to get either for a gift. So I'd better save up my money. Maybe by the time the HBP movie comes out..... I'm just crazy enough to dress up for that and go all out. And if anyone tried to cut in front of me in line I could whack them with my broom.

Hi everyone. I have been wanting a new HP product for a while and I don't know what to get. I have £20 and there is nothing I can think of. I don't need to know where to get it or who made it. I just generally need to know a Hp product. Can you tell me the name of it and describe what it does or what it is. It doesn't need to be exactly worth £20 but less than that so I could maybe buy two or three things. Oh and just to make the topic more popular and more intresting I suggest discussing the product so it can give me and us all a better idea of it.

Posted by: Riverwings Jan 5 2009, 10:03 AM

I'll be pretty useless to you know actually...but if I could get an HP product,I'd get a wand or a broom smile.gif

Posted by: wandmastercalum Jan 5 2009, 10:06 AM

A wand was the first thing I looked at but I wasn't too sure so I made this and I'm going to wait a while until I get more feedback. The other reason I didn't get a wand was because I actually already have one but maybe I could get one of those replicas. hmm I'll wait. Edit: I'm thinking of buying a set thing from Philosophers Stone. There is 3 in the set and it has all three. It has Hagrid giving Harry Hedwig, Harry and Dumbledore at the mirror of erised and the chamber of keys. I really like it. I'll need to convince my mum for £25 extra since its £45. I like it though so yeah.

Hello everyone, we've decided to turn this thread into a poll and a place for people to gush over their Harry Potter items, or discuss those items they want.

For Christmas I got Harry Potter Clue and the Prizoner of Azkaban lunch box set. I'm currently using the lunch box and thermos. I was able to play clue with the family before heading home. I'd highly reccomend it to anyone. It has spinner and new nice and houses, it goes way beyond just regular Clue. My lunch box features Harry, Ron, and Hermione under the invisibility cloak in Prisoner of Azkaban.

Please note that this isn't a thread to sell your items or promote things, its for discussing what was have and want.

I also got HP Clue for Christmas- and yea, it's got a lot to it! I didn't even know they made that version of Clue. What I would love to receive next year is any kind of very non-existent Lego HP video game. sad.gif

Posted by: Bookworm_Weasley Jan 6 2009, 07:44 PM

What I would love is a series of 3D jigsaws. Hogwarts, the Hogwarts Express, the Burrow etc. That would be great.

Posted by: weaselyfan Jan 9 2009, 11:23 AM

I really want some of the snow globes, because i love snow globes....but there is a recession...i want a weasley clock, too. oh and i will admit, when my brother told me about fat heads i did a search there for harry potter....

we own a mix of stuff from the movies (which i am not as into) and the books, including quite a few tee shirts i wear to work which gets me a lot of crap from my coworkers and students as i am definatly a harry potter fan of a certain age rolleyes.gif

we (all) own wands-both my kids, and i guess me-we got a buy one get one deal from Alivan's and i mention it because one of them got broken at a recent sleepover my 8 year old had- and i taped it back together with some "Spello-tape" and it is so Weasley, I love it even more..

i, too, got a lunch box, but i got the sorcer's stone, with harry and hagrid looking at the castle, it is on display on my shelf at home, though. as i type this, i am looking at my half blood prince day planner and my three broomsticks mouse pad.

my favorite thing is a homemade sign we have outside of my very normal looking subdivision cookie cutter house that says the Burrow.

Posted by: Hufflepuff_Pride Jan 12 2009, 06:01 PM

I have an almost life size cardboard cut out of Harry Potter from the 7th book release. I love it, even though the people I live with will not let me keep it anywhere they can see it, so he lives in my closet. For Christmas I got a Harry Potter stocking from my mom and I got money that I am going to buy a Hufflepuff uniform.

Can I just say that I would take and want everything related to Harry Potter and his world and his fandom and probably have a third of Whimsic Alley in my room? For the love of Godric I still have a box of Harry Potter valentines from fifth grade in my desk drawer! lol.gif

When ever my family has to get me gifts, I get at least 2 things Potter related.

I like it that way.

Posted by: GF_of_Seamus Jan 31 2009, 10:19 PM

I bought my mom The Leaky Cauldron sign from Alivan's
I have a wand
I got my dad a wand for father's day (mainly cause I lost his first one at a release party for book 7
I have SS leather bound collector's edition
the SS UK version
The SS 10th anniversary edition (with pin...I love ebay)
a slytherin patch (purchased @ terminus)
and for some reason my friend went to a garage sale and bought me this strange toy that looks like Harry and Ron playing quidditch, it looks like it was part of some set you put together but it stand 1ft tall and it sort of bendy.

AND one of my favorite things was a Hogwarts year 7 graduation tassel I got for work at B&N the day of the book 7 release, we were suppose to give them out but we didn't cause they only sent us 20 and there were 50,000 people in line for books.

Posted by: weaselyfan Feb 13 2009, 09:57 AM

oooh-very excited i just got the Hallmark gargoyle ornament (which is much to big for a normal Muggle christmas tree and iwll sit on my Potter shelf) for 75% off..:"Sherbert Lemon" (movie McGonagall's voice)

and I can't find these CDs anywhere. The site seems legit, says they designed packaging for all UK HP audio books. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Well, I have the UK audio books and Hoop Associates did design the packaging for HBP which I have in front of me now, so it does appear to be genuine. However, as this isn't discussing the plot of the books we're going to move over to the HP Memorabilia topic in Pensieve Parlour to continue discussing.

Well, apart from the books (including a set of the special edition books and the collector's edition of Beedle the Bard) and DVDs, I have all the games for PS2/3 and for PS/SS, CoS and PoA I have the pc versions too because until GoF they were completely different games with different tasks, etc. I did buy the GoF for the pc but was disappointed to find it was exactly the same as the PS2 version. I'm building a nice collection of teeshirts, so far I have a brown one that has MoM in gold, two black ones - one with stars and a black pawprint and one that says In Sirius Denial in silver which I love - and I have one staff teeshirt which a friend in the US sent me along with a Ravenclaw scarf and a keyring that another friend sent me. I recently bought a Sorting Hat pen holder and the four House pens which are beautiful, although the Hufflepuff one is dark green and gold rather than the black and gold I would have expected. I also bought some Christmas tree decorations of the four house shields and a Hogwarts shield which are bigger than I expected and have a hanging ribbon in house colours and a friend sent me another tree decoration which is a Harry Potter figure catching the Snitch. My plan is to buy a Marauders' Map next. My favourite item, however, is a beautiful Harry Potter quilt made by the same friend who sent me the other things, it has lots of images and symbolism for the series, such as stars, dragons, twinned patches, multi-coloured stitching to represent fireworks, and some of my favourite quotes from the series, along with favourite quotes of the person who made it and another friend of ours, its beautiful I cuddled up with it to read DH on the night it was released.

I've got all the movies (special editions) and all the books, excluding Beedle the Bard and those two she wrote for charity. I plan on purchasing some other merch, like a scarf or something.

Sadly, I own nothing Harry Potter related, but I'mm hoping that for Christmas and my birthday, my family will be generous and look into buying me some merchandise.

What Id really like is Ravenclaw scarfe! Not too out there, maybe black with the blue stripes and the Emblem at the end - so I could actually wear it without redicule tongue.gif

That would be epic.

Hmm, let's see. I have lots of little-ish things that people have given to me as presents over the years: A bookend of Harry sitting and reading a book that says "Quidditch" on it, a little Hedwig figurine, a silver Hogwarts bookmark, and these little Sirius and Harry toys that I have sitting up against my HP books (together forever! sniff!) I also have a Dumbledore's Army poster, shirt that says "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good" and "Mischief Managed", a Gryffindor robe (that I wore to the DH release, as Hermione by default), and three copies of SS: besides my original American hardcover, of course, I have the British version that I got in London, and the French version as well.

I'm also toying around with a handful of jewelry to get to wear to the HBP movie release: probably gonna buy the D.A. coin pendant and a pair of Gryffindor earrings, though I'm also sorely tempted by a Sirius pendant, an Order of the Phoenix ring, and a watch that says "Something wicked this way comes," but I can't let myself spend all that money....

Edit: I kinda forgot about this because it's not QUITE Harry Potter merchandise, but I do have a small stuffed black dog that I named Padfoot and that I kept with me everywhere when reading the last two books.

I'd like to get the first, second, and third movies on DVD and the first and second books in hardcover. I'd also like to get a poster with a picture of Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Naville, and Luna, all the people who went to the ministry in OOTP. starwars.gif

Yay! I like how the wands got the majority of the vote biggrin.gif

All of the ones after Bellatrix's are the ones I made myself. I know they're not that good, my wand making skills need improving, but I try my best. That's what matters. Haha biggrin.gif
