Harry Potter discussion forum for movies, books, and more! - The Leaky Lounge _ Memories of the HP Experience: The Pensieve Parlor _ What character are you?

Posted by: Sabrina93 Sep 10 2007, 03:22 PM

Ok, so I was talking to my friend last night and we were discussing which characters in the Harry Potter series we were most like. I’ve always considered myself a female Lupin but after hearing my friend’s commentary, I realized I am much more like Sirius. I personally think of myself of a mix between both Lupin and Sirius with my personality being a lot more like Sirius. I had a close group of four friends in high school, we were inseparable. We got into trouble together and we never sold each other out, if one of us went down, we all went down. Plus, I do tend to run into situations before thinking, I'm passionate, I put my friends above all in my life, and I can have a temper when things/people I believe in or care about are on the table being discussed or threatened.

So I’m curious what characters are you guys most like and Why?

Posted by: Mrs. Puckle Sep 10 2007, 04:50 PM

Interesting question! I'd say I was like different characters at different times in my life. When I was a child I was a bit of a Hermione...a bookish, overachiever with a propensity for bossiness rolleyes.gif. When I was a teenager, I was a lot more like Sirius...reckless, passionate, a little bit arrogant, but very loyal to my friends and essentially good-hearted. Now as an adult and a mom, I really identify with Molly...I care about my husband and kids more than anything else, I'm a bit of a worrywart, and I can be ferocious when defending my children or even just my POV, when I feel strongly about something.

Posted by: fantasyweaver Sep 10 2007, 07:24 PM

I'd say I am like Hermione. I'm not all that bossy but I am set in doing things my own way. I am often reading, and I am a teachers pet. I also tend to get along with boys at least as easily as I get along with other girls.

I also have very bushy hair.

Posted by: Smullyan_for_DD Sep 10 2007, 07:25 PM

Well let me see..... I have dark hair that will not behave due to cowlicks, glasses, a lightning bolt shaped scar (no, honestly, it's conspicuous and on my hand), dad is dead, mom probably is too. I was raised by relatives determined to stamp all traces of my father out of me...... let me think...... who might I resemble...... hmmmmm......... biggrin.gif

Posted by: blue4t Sep 10 2007, 10:50 PM

Well...most quizzes give me the result of Ron. Let's see. I don't have red hair nor am I male, but I think I am most like him of all the characters. I am a middle child. Ron's not a true middle child, but he does have older and younger siblings. He's got that middle child syndrome if you will. I'm insecure like him, most definitely. I'm into sports and if I was a witch I'd probably be into Quidditch (I say probaby because I live in the US and according to Rowling Quidditch is not as popular over here). I won't say I'm lazy nor that Ron is, but that once I got senioritis in high school it carried on to college. I think that if it existed in the wizarding world Ron probably had it or would get it. Oh, yeah, I do hate to clean up my room and have had some pretty funny exchanges with my mom over it (no cussing though!).
I do think that I am more of the sidekick than the hero and that's OK, because sometimes sidekicks can have very heroic moments.

Posted by: hedwig_rules Sep 10 2007, 11:24 PM

lol i have to say half and half - half umbridge- half monigal

Posted by: Nobody6 Sep 11 2007, 12:38 AM

I'd say I'm a cross between Lupin and Harry.

Posted by: spinnersfriend Sep 11 2007, 03:49 AM

I think I would be a cross between Arabella Figg and Pomona Sprout. They are both totally batty and unhinged in their own ways and have terrible dress sense. But I have Professor Snape's hair (only brown) - it must be time to visit the hairdresser again.

Posted by: Sethtaylorsummer Sep 11 2007, 04:31 AM

I was wondering who I resembled, but then I realised that it's Molly (thanks Mrs Puckle for reminding me of her) with some Hermione-y attitudes towards rule breaking. I really really hate breaking rules even mionorly (so yes, I drive very strictly to the road limit ... I'm such a nerd) I love and nurture my kids but keep a pretty firm disciplinary grip on them, much like Molly. However, I do try to encourage my kids to be themselves ... so if any of mine decide to create WWW I'd help them as best I could rather than try to thwart them. Other than those 2 facets I'd say I'm pretty much like Molly. Bless her, maybe that's why I like her so much biggrin.gif

in a way im a bit like arthur weasley, i have a deep interest in things that most people concider to be pointless pieces of junk lol.gif
infact i have almost every character trait of the weasley family.

Oh... I'm a cross betwen... Mr. Weasley and Professor Flitwick. Interesting combination, yet quite accurate.

Posted by: lupinwandcaster Sep 11 2007, 06:15 AM

most of the times i get Lupin, but others ive gotten Hermione and Harry

Posted by: Accio Pint! Sep 11 2007, 09:58 AM

There's a fair bit of Sirius in me, I suppose, and not necessarily his best traits. I can be both reckless and arrogant. I have a wee bit of style, too!

Intrestingly, however, the character I often consciously try to emulate is Luna Lovegood. I consider her to be the role model in the series, in fact. Utterly self-contained and serene, but also fiercely loyal and unfailingly kind. Luna is an archtypal "wise innocent."

Posted by: holic Sep 11 2007, 10:08 AM

I try to be like Lupin, I think he's a great role model and my idea of a good person, but the one person I can discuss HP with thinks I'm more like James (but I think she refers to the parody style fanfiction James who obsesses over things and is generally hyper)
I personally think I'm more of a mixture between Sirius, Ron and Tonks, that is to say a pretty happy go lucky and clumsy person who can get really angry, bitter and jealous at times.

Posted by: tonksgirl Sep 11 2007, 10:24 AM

i think im a mix of lots of character, tho the one im most like is hermione. im a total bookworm, am obssesed with reading, and i look like her too (brownish-blonde hair, a bit frizzy)... tho im like a female sirius too, (wich kinda breaks the whole hermione thing tho) i am very loyal to my friends and i always go down with them , wich has gotten me the reputation of troublemaker but actually most of the time its jst bc of a friend of mine, and im not arrogant really, but i am proud, (if theres a difference) i always strive to achieve my best. and i also relate myself to ginny, i am kinda of a tomboy sice i was little, i love sports if i was a witch i think i'd be very into quidditch and all, and i have (as my mom says) ants in my pants, i mean lots of energy and i stand up for myself always.

so thats quite a lot of ppl to be like, but i guess i am....
lol.gif does that make sense? rolleyes.gif i see myself most like them, but in sorting quizes ive goten lupin and DD too, lol

Posted by: kreachers army Sep 11 2007, 12:11 PM

Id say i was most like Sirius i can be reckless at times, and i experienced at school the kind of close friendships he had, and also the sticky situations iam sure he got into rolleyes.gif

Posted by: spinnersfriend Sep 11 2007, 01:12 PM

Oh, I quite forgot to mention that I also have Neville's memory. Now where did I put that remembrall???

Posted by: Ra-Ra-Ravenclaw Sep 11 2007, 01:30 PM

I identify most with Hermione. I am a self proclaimed nerd, a touch obsessive-compulsive, take great pride in my inteligence, and don't like rule breaking, can be a bit uptight, etc. I'm also an only child raised by two professionals. However, I tend to surround myself with people who are very different from me, more daring, more relaxed, less bookish (what's wrong with them?).

One of my daughters (6 yrs. old) seems to be developing some of these characteristics as well. I was so proud when I was watching her in class one day, and everytime the teacher asked a question, she sat bolt upright in her chair and her hand shot up in the air (that's my girl!). It was so Hermione!

Posted by: Sabrina93 Sep 11 2007, 01:46 PM

Ok, so I was analyzing this more with my friend, who is positive I’m a female Sirius, I still claim do be more like Lupin, well atleast in my adult years. So my friend made a list of the teenage me and yes, I agree with her, I was a young Sirius maybe even a bit like James too.

Sirius

- Passionate, which can led to blindness in actions
- Extremely loyal friend
- A leader
- Sarcastic
- “Rules are made to be broken”
- I was never a bully, but sure made it difficult for some teachers during my day
- Straight A student w/o trying, so I never went to class and that pissed a lot of people off, many types like Hermione/Lily didn’t encourage me but couldn’t help but like me.
- Pranks were my specialty
- Athletic
- Arrogant and a big ego (while I was a teenager)

I was mostly like this as a teenager, I’ve experienced some humility as I’ve gotten older and am a lot more humble, which I find much more like Lupin, but I sure did have a lot of fun in High School.

Posted by: CryptMistress Sep 11 2007, 01:49 PM

Hmmm...probably a cross between Bellatrix and...Lucius Malfoy. As to why...I do believe it's best left unsaid. Call it a mystery, if you wish. And, if you really DO wish to know, just ask me. darkmark.gif

Posted by: medianoche Sep 11 2007, 02:28 PM

Hm... well, I'm a bit like Hermione: intelligent, bookish, generally rule-abiding. But I'm quite a bit quieter than Hermione. I don't want to come off as a know-it-all, so I don't raise my hand that often in class. I usually don't care if people around me are breaking rules, unless it affects me in some way.

I suppose I'm like Tonks, who wears her heart on her sleeve sometimes. WHen I'm angry, sad, tired, hungry, happy, or hyper, everyone knows it.

I have a bit of Luna in me, too. I'm a bit "loony" at times, especially after dinner. I can keep a level head if I really try (which comes in use when my crush is nearby).

I'm a little like Fred and George, with my love of humor. I'm not good at coming up with funny things on the spot, like they are, but I can be funny, and a sense of humor is one of the first things I look for in people.

I'm in the path to become Severus Snape... but i think i'll be able to not become bitter smile.gif

Posted by: chocolateisnotforbreakfast Sep 12 2007, 05:38 PM

I'm bits and pieces of a lot of people... I've never really thought about a single character I'd be because I'm a mix of all of them!

Romilda Vane - her looks... dark hair, pronounced chin, dark eyes.... that's me completely.

CoS!Ginny - insecurity and yearning of acceptance

Cho - boys make me cry

Fleur - when I love someone, it is forever, no matter what happens to them

Dean Thomas - artistic ability

Hagrid - drinking ability

Trelawney - thirst to please people and pressure to live up to expectations, which I don't feel like I can meet

Ron - not as good at being a leader, but will loyally follow the right person to the right goals

Luna - creating strange but very amusing things

I seriously love how I can connect with so many different people for so many different reasons. It makes me care about them so much smile.gif

I have been called a know-it-all by people, like Hermione and also weird, like Luna. But I think, for the most part, I'm a mixture of Remus and Harry - two of my favourite characters. I'd love to be like DD though - his wisdom and sense of humour are really something to die for.

I'm a triple cross between Sirius, Tonks, and Luna. My biggest part is probably Tonks. I'll do anything myself but when someone I love is in danger they are my number one priority. Luna, because I have a lot of unorthodox views and quite honestly, sometimes I really freak people out. Sirius, becuse I don't believe in restrictions and I can really let loose and have a good time.

I thought out this recently, too...I actually think I'm a lot like Neville, but I've never really like him that much. :\\ I'm a pretty socially awkward person...and I don't think much of myself and feel pressured a bit to do what people expect of me. I'm still working on that. Dx

But for the runnerups, it'd probably be Fawkes, and Luna. I just...Fawkes is the depiction of ultimate loyalty, but only to one person. That's a lot like how I am. It sounds absolutely dreadful, but I really only really care about one or two people. And for Luna, I have weird streaks. For me, she represents that the world isn't nessicarilly what everyone says it is. That you can make your own ideas, because they're no worse than everyone elses.

Posted by: Peace46 Sep 20 2007, 12:28 AM

I have a long list of them now...

Hermione- pretty much only on her hair
Harry- Only on the fact of having bad eyesight (glasses, usually contacts though) and green eyes.
Luna- on believing in some odd things like Nessy or pointing out really weird random things
Neville- on being a bit forgetful, and that I constantly forget where I left my keys
Tonks- on having a sort of random, a bit punkish sometimes, style, and being clumsy
The Twins- In that I like to joke about a lot of things and like anything funny

Posted by: Fawcett Sep 20 2007, 03:56 AM

Hmm, I guess I'm a mix of a few. I'd say probably most like Harry. When I read the books, I really get how he feels, and I react the same way as he does with many things. I'd like to hope I'm not as arrogant as he is.

I can also be a lot like Hermione, I strive to be intelligent, and sometimes I can't help but be better than others. I have been called like Hermione from others sometimes.

Luna, in the way she believes in things. I believe anything is possible.

Posted by: Lunesta Sep 20 2007, 10:50 PM

I'm a cross between Ginny and Luna. I am very strong and sassy like Ginny, but also bit loonly like Luna; the way she looks as think I mean. LOL

Posted by: syimishah Sep 21 2007, 01:07 AM

i think im like Lupin..the way i reacted at things that is..the way he doesn't express his emotions esp towards harry..and i think i have a bit of a Tonks in me..that clumsiness..but im not that clumsy..i tend to be clumsy when im nervous..haha..

so Remus+Tonks=Me (or Teddy!! i can be his sister!)

I am Such a Hermione - when I was young you'd never see me without a book, in my spare time! lol.gif Even spent many pleasent hours in the local library - I was in their so often that sometimes I was mistaken for a librarian! biggrin.gif
I only wish I had Hermione's brains!

Somewhat Draco and Ginny, I guess.

Probably Hermione or Ginny. I am really atheletic and love playing sports! my favourite is soccer!!! and I am also a really big book nerd. I could sit and my room and read all day. but it depends on the book. I love reading harry potter of course but some other books are great to read also!

Heck no! wink.gif

I've already posted that I'm very much like Ron, but I do think there's a bit of Hermione in me, too. I'm not into studying and having to be the best or anything in school, but I do read an awful lot like her. I read all the time. I read everything. If there's a book in the house, good chance I've read. If there's a piece of paper in the house that's not private, I've probably read it.
I hate studying (puts me more at Ron than Hermione) but I did like looking ahead in the textbooks. I would look at my brother's textbooks, too, especially his English books.

Posted by: HG_in_training Sep 29 2007, 10:41 AM

I'm a lot like Hermione. I'm very bookish and love school; I'm not bossy, but I'm usually the leader in activites and I like to take charge because I feel if you haven't got a leader, you're not going to get anything accomplished. And because no one knows me, I can tell you that I have a crush on a guys who is one of my friends. biggrin.gif

I guess my comedic sense would be kinda like Ron because I have a tendency to make a joke at a very serious moment or anyplace or time a joke isn't reccomended.

Like Harry, I'm loyal to people who are loyal to me. My best friends in the whole wide world are great and I don't know how I would live without them, but I got a couple friends that don't seem to have my back and treat me and my other friends badly, so that kinda bothers us. But yeah, I'm loyal to friends who are loyal to me.

and i'm also a bit like hermione, i love to read, i'm really responsible and sensible, but i'm not that bossy and i'm not as obssesed with grades as she is...

I would be a giant flying Palomino. Put me out in a field and give me some great whiskey. I'd let Hagrid scratch near my ears. One very happy horse here. I don't drink and fly.

Posted by: -loony-lovegood- Sep 30 2007, 01:13 AM

I remind myself of Luna. I pretty much do my own thing, and it really doesn't bother me if other people I'm weird. My friends are weird with me!!

tongue.gif I have been described as a mix of the following

1 part Rita Skeeter... "Flare for writing and Persistent attitude"

3 part Luna Lovegood...."Randomness.. and occasional Cheerful indifference... Frankness"

4 part Hermione Granger..."Over-bearing... Messy hair.. thurst for knowledge...clear mind in troublesome situations.."

I've also been described as a mix;

Harry - Impulsive

Ron - Humour

Oliver Wood - Smileage and Charm

Posted by: Master Yoda Dec 8 2008, 12:17 PM

I think that There might be a few characters I am like. But if I had to pick only one
I think I would be most like Hagrid. But not for the same reason. Hagrid always
blabs secrets or tells someone something he shouldnt, whereas I tell people
something that I later regret, and that i realize i will regret. And I will say

"I shouldnta told ya that" Just like Hagrid lol

But I am sorta like ron too, because im a chicken tongue.gif

Posted by: SweetTangerine. Dec 8 2008, 06:29 PM

Like a lot of people here I'm a mix of a bunch of different characters. Like...

Harry: I keep quiet at times and keep my own thoughts to myself. I hate when my friends argue. I also have bad eye sight.
Neville: I'm socially awkward and clumsy. Sometimes I don't have much confidence in myself and I crack under pressure.
Hermione: I love to read. I do make up revision timetables for myself.
Luna: I guess some people find me weird (or used to at least). I believe in imaginary things.

Posted by: Trywearingacorset Dec 9 2008, 05:35 PM

I'm similar to Hermione - i read too much (is it possible?! lol), i can be bossy & my hair can get quite messy.

Also, Luna. I'm weird and i like living in my little dream world smile.gif

And lastly, Ron. I reckon we'd be mates because i swear a lot and have a wicked sense of humour.

Posted by: helyx Jun 23 2009, 05:31 PM

I am more like Sirius Black now. I thought I would be more seen like a Hagrid, but after my incident this week, which I want to forget - I think I have more of the reckless nature he has, and stunning good long hair looks.

I mean, even I don't worry about my hair anymore. I just think - oh, I look like Sirius more and more each day, which actually does not bother me so much. I get counseling - which he never really had, so I think I can learn to curb my more brutal side, especially now that I no longer have my best mate around. Admittedly - us together - we scared people, and for good reason.

Now, I just look like a rocker that people can't think of which group I am in. I don't mind - maybe I should try to be a musician? I think I will make a very funny Autistic Comedian when I get a handle on it, which is part of the comedy of it - I don't get the jokes.

So, yeah, Sirius Black - but this time with a better life.

Posted by: lupinwandcaster Jun 23 2009, 05:57 PM

I think I like Lupin so much because I connect to him most. He's a loyal friend, a good person, and he has his morals in the right place.

Posted by: vicky granger Jun 24 2009, 06:46 AM

I'd say I'm a mix between Hermione and Ron. I love books, I'm interested in many subjects at school, and I always listen in class and study. However, I'm pretty lazy. I do my homework mostly because I feel obliged to. I'm interested in it, sure, but sometimes I just can't be bothered. I'm (somewhat) funny, very prone to sarcasm.
SO I'm a mix. But I think I'd be more like Hermione, aways doing my homework with goodwill, if I went to Hogwarts and my homework was magic !

Posted by: ChristianWizardWorld Jun 24 2009, 09:20 AM

That's a tough question. I think I'm a combination of the Big Three: I'm smart like Hermione, I have dark hair and am stubborn (I can't just ignore someone who annoys me) like Harry, and I have a good sense of humor like Ron. I'm also clumsy like Tonks, unfortunately (it's more like accidents that hurt me, like stubbing my toes or smashing my finger with the door, rather than accidents that ruin others' possessions, though). I also kind of dwell on the unanswered things in life, like Dumbledore does. Like I have said before, I believe wisdom is more important than intelligence. I also have a habit of doing things differently than others, often to the point of annoying my peers (like saying "either" not as "ee-thur", but as "eye-thur"), so that's a bit like Luna (or, dare I say it.....Voldemort?!). And like Master Yoda, I often regret things I say like Hagrid.

So, in all, that's....seven characters. That's a good sign; 7 is the most magical number, after all

Overall, though, I'd say I'm most like Harry or Dumbledore; I get slandered by the "press" that is school gossip for things I didn't say or do, but I know that in the end justice will win.

Ok, so I was talking to my friend last night and we were discussing which characters in the Harry Potter series we were most like.

I must say, I am Harry Potter...
And then I am Luna Lovegood.

I am both characters.

Posted by: Emms Jun 25 2009, 12:04 AM

Hmm. I think I'm primarily a mix of Sirius, Hermione, and Luna.

Sirius: I'm a very passionate, restless person. While I'm not extremely reckless, I don't think, I simply cannot stand to be cooped up in one place for too long, can't stand not to go outside or not to leave a certain area, I get cabin fever very easily...and when the people I care about are out doing things and making a difference? Forget about it, if I'm stuck inside doing nothing while everybody else is making something with their lives, I'd get extremely depressed and lonely. I need to see people and go out and be involved in something. I admire poor Sirius for lasting as long as he did in Grimmauld Place.

Hermione: I love books and reading, of course, have large curly brown hair, and I can definitely be a bit of a worrywart and get on the nerves of people I care about cause I worry about them and bug them a bit. A bit of a "mothering" tendency, if you will. Also, the scene in OotP where Hermione fakes tears to stop Umbridge is totally something I would have done in that situation. I'll also stand my by my friends, and I can definitely develop an aggressive side if I feel like someone I care about is being wronged.

Luna: I'm very optimistic and cheerful, and I have a very open mind to almost anything. I, too, relish my dream world, and I think people sometimes perceive me as different and unique.

i think this combination also gives me a lot of Harry, as well.

Posted by: Doctor of the Books Jul 4 2009, 09:36 AM

I've always related most to Ginny, Hermione, and Luna.

Ginny: I'm a passionate, lively person, especially among friends and family. I have a sense of humor similar to Ginny's and sometimes I can be independent and fun-loving.

Hermione: I love books and I love to read (although lately my reading has been confined to college textbooks; not so fun). I also can go on for hours about a subject I've studied, and when I do, I sound like I've swallowed a textbook.

Luna: I'm optimistic and a bit eccentric. I've always enjoyed standing out.

Posted by: cajunfarmdog Jul 4 2009, 11:57 AM

I think I'm most like Remus Lupin and Mad-Eye Moody... Smart, clever, thoughtful, caring, sometimes a nasty temper.

But none of them are extremely intellectual.

I just took a quiz that said I was Harry, another one said Ron, and another said Lupin...

I'm a mix of Ron and Hermoine probably. Far from Harry.

I got Ron's laidbackness and his sense of humor, but Hermoines work ethic and determination.

I'm pretty awesome

I'd say i'm sort of like Fleur because I don't always take others feelings into account and walk around saying and doing what I want lol. And sort of Tonks because i'm light hearted and like to have fun.

I'd say i'am a bit like Ginny,Hermione and Luna.
I have a little temper, takes a bit to bring it out of me but when its out lol
i LOVE books, but i wasn't very good at school and i have truble spelling( as you can tell lol) I used to be a lot like her when i was younger, i was very bossy, but i've grown out of that lol
And i can be very strange and random, witch i love. I get some strange looks when i say random things lol

Well i'm kinda like Luna Lovegood because i'm strange and don't really talk much and when I do things that people think are weird come out...and a bit like Ginny because i'm strong and brave and know how to defend myself...and then a bit like Fred and George because I LOVE causing Mischief because like Serius said in the OoTP "What's Life Whithout a Little Risk"!

I'd have to say I'm a lot like Luna with the whole people think that what comes out of my mouth is weird. When it comes to school I'm like Hermione. Then to top it all off, like HalfBloodPrince-et said, I'm like Fleur. I tend to blurt out things that could offend someone. I think a mix of them works for me!

I'd say I'm a mix of Hermione, Luna, Tonks, and Hagrid. I'm always concentrating on school and getting good grades, I'm kind of quirky, but not in an annoying way, I love making people laugh, and I'm always nice to everyone even if I just met you. biggrin.gif

I would have to say that I am a mix betwen Ron and Sirius. I have a great sense of humour and I have a talent for trouble making tongue.gif
