Ok everyone, it is time for you to get out your cameras...just like me and take pictures of our wonderful environment and post it here. I may even take a break from getting pictures with Harry for the day and go take a walk around the grounds to the Lake.
The Coast where I live has been horribly effected by the off-shore drilling that has taken place over many years. To help combat some of the problems that have occurred, small volunteer groups have taken it on themselves to help clean up the coast and bring back some of the native animals.
I can remember going to the beach and it being a rarity to see the cranes and egrets. Pelicans were never seen. Now because of some of the volunteer efforts to help build back the coast we see these lovely birds often.
Here is a picture of a group of eco-scouts replanting the natural grasses that have been ripped up from our coast.
These grasses help with the erosion problems we have, and serve as a habitat for our wildlife.
Here is another picture of the same grass once it has been established.
I can see the difference a few years of hard work have made!
After a huge storm north of Seattle, Washington, USA
we lost a ton of trees, but they were all reused to build cabins and we were able to re-plant new ones.
Here are some pictures of wildlife in Hilton Head, South Carolina:

I took these photos in a national reserve some 20 kms from my place... The white tigers were the center of attraction...
I live in Wild, Wonderful West Virginia. It's called this because we love our mountains and our wildlife, and do whatever we can to preserve them. There is always a debate going on over http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mountaintop_removal coal mining, which many feel destroys our beautiful state.
Anyway, just to give a little glimpse of the rural beauty that is my home, here are a couple of shots of the view from my front porch:

The foot high snow I shoveled last night came back! WHY?!
I guess the good news is that I can frolic in fresh, fluffy snow, should the mood strike.
These pictures are wonderful! I love nature. I love the feel of it between my toes.
