I'd like ot see a list of what people think may happen to HP characters in future.
I got this idea from the idea/realization that Dudley is having a but of self enlightenment, perhaps from the Dementors, but mostly from Dumbledores comment about the Dursleys mistreating him. I think that Big D may go so far as to join a ministry of some sort, and specialize in dealing with wayward youth, being quite an expert in bullying. Harry stops in at the parish 'youth club' for a quick visit and sees a young man flying through the air, as a gentle behavioral correction from Old Fr Dudley in the boxing ring. I agree that Mr Dursley is a big genetic sink; wizarding genes have quite a row to hoe to express themselves with his DNA in the same person, but Mrs Dursley has some mildly magical abilities (not all folks are good enough to attend Hogwarts - she did try). When Dudikins starts a part time ministry in Diagon Alley, she becames more acquainted with magical folk and her small abilities begin to show up. Naturally, both Mrs and Dudley hide this from Mr Dursley, who does not change. Except perhaps to mumble about Dudley's financially idiotic career choice. |
