Could it all be real?, Have you found any evidence of Jo's Potterverse in the real world?

I was driving down the M4 motorway (south of England) at the weekend when I passed a small red lorry emblazoned with the logo "Dragon Rescue" and I (of course) first thought of Charley Weasley! tongue.gif

It was acutually a breakdown recovery vehicle according to the small print on the side, but I think my first reaction was justified! rolleyes.gif

So what have you come across in the real (muggle) world that has instantly made you think of Harry's magical world?

And did it make you wonder if maybe, just maybe, it could all be real?

Several times I have seen vans going by that had this painted on the sides along with a picture of a broom: "Clean Sweep". Now, they say they're a chimney cleaning company but I have my doubts. I have also seen some very oddly dressed people in the stores, not surprising in Manhattan you might say, but I beg to differ. There's a certain look about them that makes me sure they are wizards trying very hard to appear as muggles. Just yesterday I saw a woman wearing torquise Crocs with matching socks, torquise stretch pants (and believe me they had to stretch!) a green jacket and a fuzzy pink fedora style hat. She had a small, red, shiny purse that looked to me like dragon skin. I conclude that there are wizarding folk all around us and we have to be vigilant in spotting them.
Is it all real? Of course it is. JKR wrote the books as fiction so we would have our first introduction into the wizarding world. This was done to determine whether it's safe for them to "come out" for lack of a better phrase. Once they can be sure of their complete acceptance by muggles we will see more and more of them and personally I cannot wait. biggrin.gif

That's interesting! A few weeks ago I saw a white van with "Clean Sweep" emblazoned on the side. I think it was a chimney cleaning company too, but maybe it was just their Muggle disguise when on call-outs to fix people's brooms. ponder.gif I know it was not the same van cos we live about 3,500 miles apart, unless it was a multinational or something.

On a train journey to Hadrian's Wall a few years ago from London Euston to Carlisle, the train stopped on the Ribble Viaduct, just north of Bolton in Lancashire. The weather was bucketing it down and the sky was all dark (was only 12 noon), and the train stopped right on the beginning of the viaduct. A few minutes later all the lights went out on the train and a big gasp went throughout the carriage. The lights were off for about half an hour. I thought Dementors were about to board the train like in PoA. unsure.gif After a while the lights went back on and the train started moving again, and I got to Carlisle at about 2pm. I later found out that a powerline had fallen down onto the tracks a few miles north of the viaduct, which is what caused the train to stop and the lights to go out.

Moony! Don't you see? They were the same vans! You have to think in "magic" terms not in muggle terms. The wizards were on call to repair brooms and they have brought side along apparition to new heights! Now, not only can they take people with them but vans too. Brilliant!
Of course they told you that a power line had come down and that's what stopped the train. Imagine the panic if they announced that dementors were looking for someone on board? Did you not think it at all strange that all the passengers on that particular train were given free chocolate samples? This all goes to show what Copper said and I what I have suspected all along. It's all real and we should stop wasting time trying to rationalize what we see in our everyday lives. The time has come for us Muggles to stop living in denial!

I quite agree Alysaw. wizard.gif

That was my first thought when I read that Moony had seen the same van here in the UK. Of course he probably saw it heading back to Diagon Alley!

As for the train, it makes perfect sence for them to say it was a power cut. Poor old moony wouldn't have seen the Dememtors searching the compartments, he is a muggle afterall!

They're obviously not quite ready to 'come out' to us yet!

Keep your Eyes peeled. Constant Vigilance!

Well, I'm not sure that they are readdy to be 'Outed' of all the members of the LL only 4 of us have come up with any evidence that the Magical World truely exists.

And that evidence is circumstancial at best...

They may keep themselves to them selves for a little while yet.

Unless there is more evidence????

Remember : Keep your Eyes peeled. Constant Vigilance! inv.gif
