~ Relationships Poll ~ There are innumerable relationships in the Potterverse, ranging from the friendship between Harry, Ron and Hermione to the bond between Fred and George; from the camaraderie between the Order members to the more serious one-on-one relationships like that of Snape and Dumbledore. Each one is unique and has a place in the story at one point or other. But everyone will have their own ideas of what was the most vital relationship for the series. The one connection that stood out in terms of its depth and importance. This poll is to ask you which one you would vote for. The following are some relationships to choose from : Feel free to mention those not given here in your post. Snape ~ Lily * What would have happened if Lily and Snape hadn't been friends when they were children and Snape hadn't grown to love her ? Admittedly, it didn't stop him from joining Voldemort, but he did beg his master to spare her, leading to the sacrificial protection Harry got from his mother. It also led Snape to devote the rest of his life to fighting Voldemort. James ~ Sirius * By all accounts, they were more like brothers than best friends. So secure were James and Lily about Sirius that they named him godfather for their son and were willing to entrust their lives to him and his judgement. What if James and Lily hadn't felt so about Sirius ? They would have accepted Dumbledore's offer to be their secret-keeper in the first place and Voldemort would never have found them. Dumbledore ~ Snape * The relationship between these two wizards wasn't one of choice, but of happenstance. They were brought together by an impending tragedy and their relationship was sealed when it occurred. As time passed, their mutual respect and common mission cemented that relationship. Would Snape have turned around without Dumbledore's fighting words to him ? Harry ~ Dumbledore * A sublime connection between a teenaged boy and a very old man. The level of trust that both of them had for each other was amazing, as was Harry's ability to understand and forgive the caring grandfather-ish figure in his life. Would Harry have given himself up to Voldemort in the forest if he hadn't trusted Dumbledore the way he did ? Harry ~ Ron ~ Hermione * Their relationship was absolute in every sense. Friendship as Harry had never even dreamed of came his way after he entered the world he didn't know existed. The three were inseparable and shared danger, joy and sorrow as one. Would Harry have succeeded in his mission if it weren't for his best friends - Ron and Hermione ? Harry ~ Voldemort * This was a relationship neither Harry nor Voldemort wanted, but they remained connected to each other from the moment Voldemort decided that Harry posed a threat to him to the day he finally met his end. They shared minds, souls and Lily's blood protection. But what if Voldemort hadn't thought of Harry as his mortal enemy ? He wouldn't have set out to kill Harry, and perhaps turned his attention to Neville. Have fun ! This post has been edited by rowena r: Aug 17 2009, 11:15 AM -------------------- ![]() L O V E |
