On another thread I noticed that Taniqui said -

My library shelves them in J fiction, although Book 5 made me wonder about putting them in Young Adult.  I won't split the series, so J fiction is where they are staying, at least for now.

What does everyone else do?  I am curious where they are shelved in other libraries.   smile.gif

at most libraries i find Harry under Young Adult fiction, sometimes in the children section; something funny tho - when that happens, usually only SS, COS and maby POA are there, and the rest of the series under Y/A.

I would have to say that its in the middle, considering it has some suggesting moments, but then again it can be kinda ...For lack of better terms.."Childish". But reguardless its a very good series a brilliant one at that. i will still have a great interest in it for years to come, im sure.

In most libraries that I've been to have the Harry Potter series in the Young Adult section (but then again, most of the libraries that I go to dont have the 'J-Fiction' section). Also, one library has like, half of the series in the Children's section and the other half in the Young Adult Section. Then another has the whole series in the series section. lol.gif
But if someone was to ask me (where I would place the series) i would definetly put it in the Young Adult Section. Its too dark and mysterious to be categorised in the Children's, i think, and I dont know much about the J-Fiction Section. I would think that the Young Adult Section is just right
