Trevor has always been there, since the very begining. He's been mentioned (I believe) in every book, no matter how many times he runs away. But there was no mention of him at all in the seventh. So, where did he go? Did Neville set him free, did he die, regular garden toads don't live too long. Or was Trevor something special? What do you think?
