I'm working on a novel length story right now, I've written/published several short stories, I have a blog and I write articles for the online mag, ACED Magazine. I've done bits of other types of writing, but these are the ones I enjoy most so that's why I do them more than the others. The end. tongue.gif

I like writing fiction. Particularly novel length when possible. I don't know that I favorite genre though that I favor. My stories tend to always be different in that matter. Currently, I'm undertaking historical fiction. Which is by far my most difficult venture. It'll take a painstaking amount of research do it right.

I'm doing the same thing--working on a historical fiction story. I'm a sucker for history and I love writing characters from different time periods. The research can be annoying though...I usually write the story then do more in-depth research for the second/final draft. It's easier to add and tweak the facts once a story of some kind has been established...for me at least. biggrin.gif

I've tried blogging, but I'm not very consistant. My latest blog actually is by one of my characters.

For the most part, I like novels. I really have a hard time with short stories, both reading and writing. I am often looking for more once they're done.

I have this one project, though, that could be two books, but it's more like one and a half books... or something. I'm not quite sure....

I tried doing a manga/anime once, but since then, I've decided it's not worth it. lol Can't really draw it all that well....

Oh, one time I took a short, online quiz called "What kind of writer are you?" My result was a screen writer, and I thought, not really, but that'd be so much fun! The little blurb was something to the effect of: you like to entertain people, your vision is so clear that you want others to see it, etc. etc.

I'm working on a novel, but for now I'm just getting out short stories pertaining to it, just as a sort of practice.

I've always written fanfiction too, since it's fun and a safe and easy way to get feedback and constructive criticism and stuff.

Fanfiction, poetry and short stories. smile.gif

Fanfiction and short stories are usually fantasy but poetry is more - personal.

My style constantly changes (or at least the time periods i write about).I used to write stories similar to LOTR, then stories set in our time and now i'm writing sci-fi. I like sci-fi because you don't have to strict rules, as it is normally in the future.

I actually hate history myself. It bores me. My current work is in this genre by default. I simply have can't label it as something else. So I'm writing it in this genre because it's the only way it'll work.

I voted for novels/short stories, magazines/newspaper articles, and poetry.

I've been writing poetry since high school. Much of it isn't what I consider to be good, but it still tells something of where I am at that particular moment. On other boards, I've written articles for papers and have a lot of fun with that. Most recently, I did an advice column writing as Lockhart (can I tell you how much fun that was?) and a sports column writing as Kennilworthy Whisp. Both were incredibly fun to write.

I am currently polishing a novel that I hope to submit for publication. It's young adult fantasy. I've tried other genres when I thought I had a good idea, but they came out stilted and unreal. With this, I think I've found my niche. The words just flowed out (I wrote the rough draft during NaNoWriMo in 16 days) and, surprisingly, it was actually a fair story.

I like writing novels/short stories, because I get to "live" with characters I've created for a time, and see them develop. I tend to write fantasy/science fiction, because I find castles and dragons and faeries very alluring (as well as post-apocalyptic/dystopian scenarios--they're very interesting!)

I'm a big fan of short stories, I get bored easily so I can't keep my attention on one thing that I am writing for long periods of time, I generally write love stories or actiony ones.
